eventually, yes!

like spiders and pond skaters, ants also abuse surface tension to walk across floodwaters, but the surface tension thing can also extremely work against them if they brush up against a water droplet wrong and get sucked in! when you’re the size of an ant, every water droplet is a deadly pit trap waiting to drown you and everyone you love with your tiny ant feelings.

Might be a stupid question, but is there anything wrong with Dalmations?

oh boy. Lots. Temperament issues from poor breeding- most dalmations I’ve met have been neurotic/aggressive. Very prone to being deaf (which is not bad in and of itself, but a thing to be aware of). Weird stupid tendency to make horrible uric acid crystals in their bladder that are the *worst* stones to have because the crystals look like this:

and these crystals aren’t as easily affected by diet changes because the issue is a genetic one in the dog’s liver regarding metabolism. Some of them just can’t get past the uric acid stage, which is not very water soluble, to the metabolite that lets our urine be just liquid, instead of being full of microscopic multidirectional razorblades.
