Ibis (Amentep) being released into the world after a 4,000 year slumber.
All Hero Comics #1 (January 29th, 1943)
Young Prince Amentep and his wife, Taia, were in love during the 12th dynasty of ancient Egypt. Before their marriage, Amentep was gifted the mystical Ibistick by the god of widsom, Thoth. While married, Taia was poisoned by the evil Black Pharaoh. In order to save her, he placed her under suspended aniamtion, and did the same to himself. Amentep's mummy was found in the modern day and he was awakened to reunite with his bride once more. Together they live and rule in New Thebes. In his free time, Amentep goes by Ibis the Invincible, and stops mystic crimes.
Is this creature real?
After all my years on this earth, I nearly said no, but then I found this thing running around the city. More research required.
Ibis the Invincible #2 (February 3rd, 1943)
Whiz Comics #2
Ibis (Amentep) uses the Ibistick to procure money for a trip to Egypt. He is searching for Taia, his lost sweetheart and princess.
At least he doesn’t have to worry about finding a job in 1940s America!
