Now this was a tricky situation, and one he had never thought he would find himself in. He didn’t even know it was possible for this to happen.

He lifted a hand, or paw as it was now, and stared at it. Scaly and blue, with claws. Then he turned and looked at his tail and moved it a bit. He had turned into a dragon, and to make it even more confusing, he was a tiny dragon! He let out a low growl and climbed up onto a crate and curled up there, glaring at his surroundings. No people here right now, but he was pretty sure even a cat would be able to kill him due to his size right now.

Then there was footsteps and he shifted a bit more, hoping he wasn’t going to be seen from where he was curled up.

Perhaps it wasn't the smartest idea to leave the southern air temple.

His brother Mondatta had always taught him patience. Had always stood for freedom of mind and body, and being one with oneself. But with his current fate, he was anything but free. Was forced to give up his usual lifestyle and even the teachings of his brother just because of what he apparently was.

And he wasn't having it. He had enough.

Saddling Pallav one night, taking most of his belongings with him, he left the temple. He had told Mondatta of his plan, asked the other to come along, but the other had declined. Called it a bad idea, but he had supported Zenyatta's choice. Bought him time to leave.

And now he was here. Somewhere. Hiding underneath a rocky alcove to shield himself and his bison from the storm that raged outside.

     “You ever ridden a motorcycle before?” Jesse asks, lounging lazily on the bench with a smirk. “One with wheels. Like them old 2020s devils. I used to ride those things like a damn madman.”

He’s managed to find the kitchen, and he’s made some toast. Slightly burnt, but good enough. The tags are on the table as he works on eating the somewhat burnt bread, but hearing someone approaching, his attention goes to the new face in the doorway.

He figured someone would have to come in eventually. Kitchens usually had people.

He abandons his toast and heads over, taking the chain of tags from the table. Anything to help figure things out were good. The less he had to talk, the better. When he gets to the man with the nice hair, he holds up the chain and dog tags. It had his name on it. It would help.

The kingdom was his home, moreso than his own had been previous. In earnest, he truly had loved the opportunity to work outside his own kingdom. There was nothing wrong with his own. In fact, it was a perfectly good kingdom, but change kept the mind from decaying. He was still a young man, and he wanted to see more, do more.

It’d only been three years but he had found himself promoted, trusted, and more fulfilled than he had been previously.

Even with the threat of looming war- and perhaps a prince who was not prepared for the news that his father had ridden out to try to negotiate and avoid conflict. Jack couldn’t tell if that was a fruitless effort or not, yet. King Lukas was in good hands with his generals, leaving Jack behind in charge of the standing forces in the castle, and the protection of Lucio. He was up to the task, but he wondered what the stress might do to the Prince. As such, he’d decided to visit him, see how he was holding up.

“I hope you’ve at least gotten some sleep.”
