“Rest? Hah…ain’t no time for that,” he struggled to get up. “Can’t…aw shit,” he sighed.

⸄ ❝I said don’t get up for a reason. You took a nasty fall.❞ Not like Wisp saw the cause of McCrees unconsciousness, but judging from the back bruising and bone issues, it was what Wisp could deduct.

The leather clad thief got up from their position on the run down chair. Instead, moving to lean against the cheap bed frame and stare the cowboy-esque man in the sheets. A large dog perking up from where he was apparently laying on the floor. One eyed dog a much more friendly sight than the dark and covered figure staring Jesse down.

❝I’ll say now since you’re injured and a sense of trust is better than you getting yourself into even more hurt.- This is a old Talon safehouse, unused since Overwatch found the location. I am indeed a Talon agent. Considering you’re not strapped to a medical bed with a dozen doctors looming over you, or dead, take my loyalty as severely lacking.❞

Wisp stands straight, folding their arms over their chest as McCree was given a moment to let it sink in. ❝Your injuries were far from fatal. A minor rib break, dislocated hip, and a crap ton of bruising. You’re obviously going have a hard time moving, but I treated everything as best I can. Once you’re stable, you can go off to a professional or take your chances.❞

❝Any allergies or sensativities before I get you something to eat or drink? I have some green tea being made if that suits your fancy.❞ ⸅

Sticks one flower in his hair.

There’s a look of surprise as the flower sits, nestled in his hair behind one ear. Despite himself, he smiles- though that’s still hidden behind the mask. His brows remain risen a moment longer before he clears his throat with a light chuckle following.

“Thanks, Cowboy.”

“I can’t believe this actually happened to me.”

“You and me both.” Gabe shook his head, chewing the insides of his mouth to keep himself from lashing out. Again. At the one person who didn’t need that right now.

He eyed Jesse carefully, part of him wanting to reach out and touch, comfort. The only thing stopping him being the fucking fangs, which, while probably functional, were also weird and very, very bad. 

VERY bad.

“So tell me again, what happened. All the details.”

"You been gone a while. Figured you got tired of us."

"Not tired. I simply had other things on my mind."

Lots of other things. Many worries that the monk did not share with anyone.

"I had to get out and find myself again, in a way." He bows his head. "I apologize I made you worry."

“What happened?” Hanzo asked as he knelt down in front of Jesse. “You look like you could need a hand.” How bad were his injuries? He looked like he would be struggling to walk like that. The dim lights was making it hard to see just how hurt he was, but one thing he knew was that if he stayed here his condition would just get worse. “I will get you somewhere safe.”

Reading a book on the couch, he was so absorbed by the story itself that he didn’t notice someone sliding next to him on the couch. And suddenly his book is closed up and he is pulled closer, a scruffy beard brushing against the wires in his neck, snuggling closer.

“McCree?” Zenyatta asks, a tad confused, and now he had to find the page in his book he was at again. But for now he’d put his arms around the gunslinger as well, patting his back. “Something the matter?”

He praised his memory banks for remembering the page number.

It had been a few weeks since Kara and Jesse ran into each other, and the disguised omnic decided to stick around to help them out. It was much easier for her to get around, after all, since her face wasnt plastered on a wanted poster. She’d been doing errands for Angela, Torbjorn, and Jesse, making sure they had the essentials to keep their base at the abandoned church, even managed to get the water running again. 

Kara had just returned from another shopping trip, just some food and supplies. Of course the first thing she did was look for Jesse. His serape and shoes were on one of the benches. He must have been washing up in the bathroom. Nevermind. She had what she needed. 

The omnic pulled out a small pocket sewing kit she’d picked up, and took the serape. The bullet that hit him when they met had left a large hole in it, and considering he almost never took it off, she figured it would be nice to fix it up. Kara began sewing the hole shut, humming softly as she worked.
