i understand that twilight fell off, especially now since its so overshadowed by other vampire-esk shows, however—was i the only one that was so interested in the volturi? i swear, stephenie dropped an ancient ‘royal-ish’ family onto us, brushed them off as elitist freaks even though edward (literally) said that they value the law above anything. like hello? i want to get my freak on to some gothic ancient vampires. not like that victorian era purist freak edward.

Mike can never tell El he loved her because friends don’t lie, and if he told her that he loved her in the sense she wanted, he would be lying, and friends don’t do that.

He was only able to say it when Will was there because Will was never really a friend, no, he was his… ‘Best Friend’, so that was an exception.

Honestly, Byler is now heavier after the finale. Cause everything is left open, nothing is shut down, there is miscommunication everywhere. I'm not a big fan of angst, but there is tons of angst here.

Mike was still going out with Jane (apparently!?), but he's never been able to say I love you - not in the way Jane wanted. And now he has even more survivor's guilt than before, as well as confusing feelings about her, their relationship, her death. Mike has even more confusing feelings about his best friend, who he may or may not realize had a crush on him. And it was said in past tense. He's trying to balance this survivor's guilt, the death of his friends, and internalized homophobia, and being in love versus just loving someone. How did he feel about Jane? How does he feel about Will? Mike has been late his whole life, and Will said he had a crush, does that mean Mike is once again too late? That he no longer has a chance with Will before they even began?

Will had been in love with Mike for years. It took him years to figure out his own self acceptance journey. He used his own emotions, his own love for his best friend to patch up the toxic and fracturing relationship of his sister and his best friend. And he continued to do so. He also has complicated feelings cause now his sister is gone, he has his own grief to deal with. But he also sees the grief of Mike, and he doesn't know Mike's own internal struggles just probably equates it to losing his gf. He essentially rejects Mike, by calling him a past crush, by saying we are friends. He doesn't even give Mike a chance to be anything more, doesn't realize that it could be more. But he clearly still has feelings for Mike, still is yeaning years later. It wasn't just a crush, it wasn't past tense.

Idk, one day these crazy kids are gonna figure it out and finally communicate and admit their feelings. I just hope it doesn't take too long.
