anderperry headcanons cause the brainrot is real
their first kiss happened in their dorm late at night when Neil was gushing about acting and he was super happy and they were both really in the moment, and Todd just kissed him interrupting his talking, they were both kind of surprised and Neil gave an awkward laugh and said smiling “why did you do that?” And then Todd said “I don’t know” and then they kissed again, that time more passionate, and then they cuddled to sleep <3
Keating knew they liked each other, it was clear there was something more between them
if Neil can’t sleep, Todd recites poetry and it always helps
One time when Todd was talking about poetry, Neil said to him “you’re really passionate, you know that? I know you don’t always show it but I really like that about you”
For Christmas, Neil gave Todd a Walt Whitman book and in it he wrote “To my favourite poet” and Todd’s Christmas present to Neil was a book about the history of theatre and in it he wrote “To my puck”
Neil: Valentine’s day is just a consumerist holiday that holds no real value other than drive people insane buying heart shaped chocolates for their significant others and pos-
Todd: I wrote you a poem.
Neil, already crying: You did?
Todd Anderson is the type of guy who stays up all night just to study for midterms and finals. doesn't matter how tired he gets, how hard his hands tremble, how unfocused his eyes become. he can't stop. because if he stops, then he might not be prepared. and if he isn't prepared, then he might fail.
and if he fails, then he'll be proving his father's point; the point that, no matter how hard Todd tries, he'll never be as smart as Jeffrey. he'll never be as good, as talented, as impressive as his older brother.
Neil notices. he notices that, as midterms creep closer and closer, the way that Todd starts sleeping less and reading his textbooks more. he notices how often he'll go to bed and see Todd at his desk, and wake up hours later just to see him in the exact same spot.
he tries to get Todd to stop. he tries to talk to him, convince him to rest. the Poets already have study group together every night; surely they're covering enough together.
but Todd won't listen.
and as annoying as his stubborness may be, Neil can't deny that he's far more concerned than he could ever be bothered by his roommate's behavior.
if todd has had a bad day or is stressed, he won't speak much, if not at all, and he'll withdraw from doing things he'd normally do. growing up, his parents hardly ever let him express how he feels fully because they didn’t want to deal with a child who had outbursts. for comfort, he likes to gravitate towards people he trusts most, especially neil. it takes him a while to express what he really feels, so in the meantime, he shows how he feels through physical touching. todd's favorite thing to do is cuddle and hold hands with him, and even if the two don’t want to do that, being in the same room with him is enough.
and then the day arrives when todd can't remember what neil's voice sounded like, and the shirt he kept from him has long lost neil's scent and todd throws up and sobs, burying his face in neil's old school blazer, still hanging in their room with all its achievement pins, and todd desperately tries to find some last trace of neil in it, but he's gone, he's gone, he's gone
Todd does this thing where he tapes small bits of his poetry onto Neil's grave to let him know that he's still thinking about him
DPS - Married Anderperry HC’s
This is a small one, but them living in their lil house has been on my mind lately
They would be so good at interior design
Definitely have that Lenox Spice Village
Have a brown cat named Walt Whitman
Live in a farmhouse with a wrap around porch
Only warm lighting
Grape themed kitchen with all the vines on the cabinets and stuff
I feel like this is a common one, but I think that Neil took Todd’s last name because he wanted to detach from his father
Huge closet full of candles
They have a little garden in the back that Neil isn’t allowed to take care of because he doesn’t have even an inkling of a green thumb unlike Todd
Combined closet. They wear each other's clothes a lot.
During their Welton days, Todd threw away one of his poems because he didn’t like it, but Neil ended up loving that poem so he took it from the trash and has had it in his wallet for years
