Just had a thought
My family is religious on almost all sides.
My mother was raised Catholic. Church, Catholic school run by nuns, you name it. She knows her bible and self-identifies as Catholic.
My father was raised by Anglican parents. He was an alter boy until he was fifteen, and he stopped that of his own accord. He doesn’t identify as religious.
I wasn’t raised religious. My mother never asks us to do prayers, she’s not an avid church-goer, she doesn’t quote the bible at every other turn. I was raised a lover of science, and I firmly believe in evolution, but I still like to be in touch with my religious roots. I consider myself spiritual as opposed to religious, but the notions are still there. I believe something is out there; whether it’s God, aliens or the flying spaghetti monster, who knows?
I may not know my bible off by heart, I’ve never actually read the thing from cover to cover, but I know that if God is real, He loves us. He loves us and he will always love us.
I’m queer beyond belief, and my parents love me. They support my decisions on who I do or don’t date, and my mother is always there to hit me upside the head whenever I’m being too hard on myself.
My Gran (mother’s side) told me she loved me when I came out to her. She is a constant light in my life and I love her to bits.
I haven’t come out to my Grandma and Grandpa yet (father’s side), but there is little doubt in my mind that they will support me as well.
God loves his LGBTQ+ children. We are proof that loves comes in all shapes and forms. We are proof that we can survive His challenges, both personal and as a community.
Those who use religion as a base for their hatred are awful people. If God is all-loving, why should He deny His children love?
If you choose to follow a God that turns away from His children for no reason other than being who they are with who they choose, then He is no god of mine.
I just needed to say that. I can’t speak for other religions, but I hope they feel the same way.
Religious LGBTQ+ people are beautiful, and I’m glad that your god supports you and loves you no matter what.
Love always, Will <3
One of my favorite anglicisms in Swedish is “Det makear ingen sense” which basically is “It makes no sense”. I love how we literally just translated it and made a Swedish verb out of make even though we could have used gör (but that would have sounded so stupid) and just left sense as it is. It’s like ?? What are we even doing??
You know what's really hard? There's a bunch of conjunctions in English that have no equivalent in my language, and when I'm writing, one will pop in my head and I'll be at loss on how to put it in Portuguese
Wasserglätte (noun, feminine); aquaplaning
Wasser (noun, neutral); water
Glätte (noun, feminine); slipperiness
-> more often "Aquaplaning"

Cet anglicisme s’est bien implanté dans la langue française. Mais rien ne vous empêche d’utiliser son équivalent bien français :
