#1 Request I did for someone on DA, when I was offering to do a request. :3 #2 Commission I’m working on for such a nice individual! ; w ;
At work there's this thing of white out tape but it's reflection looks suspiciously like an eye
Like, why you mad?
Unrelated, but this reminds me of that eye machine at the beginning of Epic Mickey
Hathor
Hathor has been known as the Angry Eye, goddess of sexuality/fertility, mother of Horus, she's been seen as a cow, she restored Horus Udjaty's eye, and she was the goddess in the Destruction of Humanity story. The Greeks associated her with Aphrodite because of her sexuality and how she's related to singing and pleasure. Egyptians, however, associated her with faraway lands, essentially anywhere outside of Egypt, like the Near East for example. You may think to yoyrself: Wait? What do you mean she's Horus' mother, I thought that was Isis? Well, there was more than one version of Horus. In some versions he's the son of Hathor and Horus the Elder, and in others he is the son of Isis and Osiris. Her name is the combination of the falcon and the hwt symbol (box with smaller box in upper corner) so her name means "the house of Horus" her name in Egyptian is written as hwt hr (hoot herr) which the Greeks write as Hathor. Hathor, therefore, was always connected with Horus. Since the king is identified with Horus they often also considered Hathor as their mother. Her main animal form is the cow and there's an image of her in this form emerging from the papyrus to help people get to their afterlife and give them what they need for their afterlife. Hathor is said to emerge from the tree to give you nourishment for the underworld, which is related to the image of her coming out of papyrus I think. Hathor's city is Dendera which is in upper Egypt and it's one of the best preserved temples in Egypt. This temple is distinctive because her face (human with cow ears) is carved onto every column and, strangely, her face is seen straight on. Her temple was modeled on the Edfu temple dedicated to Horus (the one with the inscriptions of the drama of Horus) Horus Edfu and Hathor Dendera were a couple and once a year her statue was put on a boat and taken 70 miles downriver to get to Edfu so she could spend time with Horus. This was a celebration between the two temples.
Kel's tweet kind of confirms Raven's message.
Tonight we watched Killing Us Softly 3 and Angry Eye. And she wants to watch more!! I'm parenting right, guys!
I found this very powerful when we discussed this in class, years ago. Sad to say that this is still an issue.
