Hey everyone, I'm back from hiatus (kind of), and I decided to make something cool looking about my favorite background witch, Sarah Bernhardt!

In this, it's based on a theory of mine where witches turn into huge monstrous versions of themselves when they're really pissed off and/or at their limits of tolerating something that's getting to them. For Sarah, I wanted to make her hair act like act like fire and make it be able to set things on fire if it touches them, as well as have her hands catch fire for extra intimidation points! Kind of like Asmodeus from Helluva Boss when he gets super pissed off.

And yes, I know that it's not literal transformation in canon and more just emphasis and a silly way to show anger, but I don't care. I think this is cool, and I hope to try this out with more background witches, and then maybe Akko?

Also

Yeah, Chloé knows she's screwed this time. Maybe she'll think twice before she decides to bother Diana for the trillionth time and making her and Elfriede look bad by association? Just saying, you know?

Also, if you have any ideas for what specific witch would look like when furious, tell me, I'd love to know~!

Just to put this out here...

If you’re a part of this new ‘Witch-Tok”, and falling in with the false claims, bad practices, and disseminating of terrible, bad, wrong information, then I have one request.

Stop. Just stop.

You have baby witches, who’ve had no advantage of an elder to teach them, being given information like: “Belladonna seeds are good to make into tea”. Which will, at the very least, make you bad-trip for hours, or days. At worst, (and far more likely), it will kill you as every part of it is toxic to living things.

Either talk to an active, practicing witch, or do some real research, before trying to teach baby witches.

Also, in agreement with a youtuber I watched recently. Baby witches, if you’ve had a bad day, and are interacting with these ‘big bad’ ‘witches’ who are claiming they hex people all the time? No. No they aren’t. Those who do those sorts of things don’t actually talk about it. They definitely don’t fucking brag about it.

I say these things as a practicing witch of 23 years.

I will also say that if you are a babywitch (or other) with questions, I would be glad to answer them to the best of my ability. If I can’t, I can at least send you to good resources.

I'd love to call this a friendly witchy reminder...

Im just not that friendly

In all my years as a practitioner I thought I heard it all but then someone hits me with:

"Oh, yeah? Well Im a witch"

And....?

Im not sure when in the last few decades we began spouting our practice as a threat or boast

Am I supposed to immediately freak out and swoon? Am I supposed to be fearful or in awe?

Tacking "witch" as a title on yourself proves nothing and it doesnt make you "omg edgy" or some type of unique creature.

We all want to be the hero of our story. We want to be special and stand out from the crowd. But dont spat out "witch" or "pagan" or "wiccan" like it suddenly makes you nifty neato bambino

You want to be respected? Act respectfully

You want to be understood? Give the effort to understand

You want to be loved? Complete acts of love

A title doesnt magically make you awesome and a religion or practice doesnt make you so much better than another person of another religion or practice

Thats right being religious doesnt make you better than someone else and this applies to every religion.

Practicing witchcraft doesnt somehow make you better than someone who doesnt

If someone claims that they are so much more morally just because of their religion and practice, run.

And don't look back.

We are viewed to be like those we associate with. Choose who you befriend carefully and with forethought.

That’s it. I’m about to fucking exit tumblr. I thought this was a good place for me but lately I’ve been feeling attacked and it’s messing with my mental health.....

Like all of a sudden, it’s a BAD thing that I’m writing letters to my future romantic soulmate/past life Husband.

So my tags aren’t working properly...like everyone

With that update tha tumblr did that makes posts with external links not show up in tags, presumedly as some farce of an idea to shut down the porn bots...my posts with links aren’t all popping up when you search.

If you’re having that issue, especially if you consistently link to outside sources such as Patreon, Twitter, Instagram, Ko-Fi, Etsy, PayPal etc:

But what does that mean Barberwitch?

That means my witch Tip Wednesday posts that all finish with a link to my Etsy, kofi, or PayPal are scattered and hit or miss for searching. I estimate about 1/3 of content that is tagged the same is viewable through the search function. I spent 10 minutes going through my archive trying to find a stupid post about a stupid thing I do to make stupid witchcraft because any stupid word I typed in the stupid internal search bar, stupidly refused to bring up the stupidly accurately tagged post because of the stupid stupid STUPID GLITCH!

I have to go back and manually redirect all the linked posts through my year of weekly posts to make them function...I will have to sort through Text Posts, Asks, Photo sets and everything just to make sure that THE TAGS THAT I USE WITH FLOURISH TO MAKE SURE ANY POSSIBLE SEARCH TERM WILL MAKE IT APPEAR IF YOU THINK “Hmmm. I think Barberwitch has a post about...stacking spells. Or about tarot something, or trad craft, or something to do with datura? Maybe it was about spirits? Idk. I’ll search a phrase and it’ll pop up.” Will maybe work if you happen to be lucky enough to find the post that didn’t implode.

^Me reading those posts not thinking it had to do with me until this happened.

Hi everyone, I'm back with witches in angry mode~! Yeah in case you didn't know, I have a headcanon that witches become big, scary, and monstrous when angry, based on some stuff from official media. This time of Shao-Yi, a background witch that isn't as well known as Sarah, but still has a lot of fans. Me included!

So for Shao-Yi, I wanted something to compliment her simple yet wonderful design. So I decided to make it seem mystique yet simple. And what's more simple than a giant shadow monster just waiting to drag you into the darkness? I also wanted to make it look intimidating, so I hope this succeeded!

Also, I like to imagine that Shao-Yi is a very nice and patient person, so you have to actively be trying to piss her off!

Or be Amanda and steal her personal family treasures! Which is why she's so furious by the way! But, that's what happens when you steal someone's personal belongings that have such sentimental value to them. So now, Amanda has two choices. Give Shao-Yi her stuff back, or run away and prey Shao-Yi doesn't grab her or catch up. And as you can see, she chose life!

(Also, sorry about how weird Amanda looks and for how sloppy my hand writing is!)
