My muse has just woken up from a particularly vivid and terrifying nightmare. Send “Ssh, you’re okay” to calm and comfort them.

Gary was having a hard time breathing. In his dream, he'd been running from something--a terrifying evil that he wasn't sure the identity of. It had taken several other people that looked like him--and probably actually were different versions of him--and they all gave chase, grabbing for him with their weird hands.

It was just when they'd caught up that he found himself sitting bolt upright, panting harshly as he stared at the far wall. He barely heard Nimue's words, but he felt her arms around him.

He took a deep breath. No, I'm not, he thought, but he laid back down anyway, trying in his half-asleep stupor to bury his face against her.

"I'm scared," he said softly.
