When You Seek Help, the Hope Can Begin
It was a gathering of sorts with local personalities and bloggers. Erin from A Parenting Production and Jennifer from the the Clueless Chick were there. We sat at the long table in PDQ that was specially arranged with gingham check tablecloths similar to those at Angus Barn. We listened to Bob Basham (co-founder of PDQ) and Van Eure (owner of the Angus Barn) talk about their partnership in…

Angus Barn Chef's Table: Third Course
Our third course was a berry and walnut salad with fresh goat cheese, paired with pinot noir.
This is another example of a dish that seems common, and it is, but this was the best salad of its kind I've ever had. A lot of people think that anyone can make a salad. And that's true--most anyone can make a pretty good salad. That said, it takes a knowledge of flavors and textures (and how to balance them) to make a great salad, and that's what the chef served us.
Angus Barn Chef's Table: First Course
Our maître d' met us at the front of the Barn with glasses of Brut-style sparkling wine, made with the Biltmore Estate winery exclusively for Angus Barn.
He led us to the kitchen, where our table was waiting, and brought us our first course: pimento ham biscuits with micro greens. This might sound plain, but picture the best pimento cheese you've ever had and add champagne.
We recently celebrated our anniversary at the Angus Barn Chef's Table
and I never told you lovely people about it. For that, I am sorry.
The good news is, I'll be doing a one-a-day series this week to tell you about each course and its wine pairing. I hope you enjoy it.
Just made reservations for the Chef's Table at Angus Barn.
Beginning two-week countdown now.
This weekend one my good friends got married! It was so much fun seeing friends and celebrating the love and future life of two of my favorite people. Her venue was The Pavillion at Angus Barn and it was one of the most beautiful weddings I have been to. ever. If you have the cash to dole out, this venue is perfect and just simply amazing. This summer has been tame as far as weddings go, but I already have a long list for next year/summer and hope they will all be as wonderful as this one.
