AFO (Articulated Foot Orthotic) users with Cerebral Palsy: Has anyone gone back into an AFO as an adult? Any tips or advice would be appreciated.

#chronicallyill365 Day 105: Relationship status: Its complicated. Were these two days in a row and didn't even want to look at them today. Yesterday, I wore them out shopping. My mom and I ended up skipping grocery shopping because I just needed to get home and take these off. Walking with them is SO difficult and tiring! I've noticed that wearing them makes my hips and lower back hurt more. My left hip and knee are burning so bad that I don't want to move. #chronicallyill365 Day 104: Going shopping today, I decided to dress up because I'm going to wear my leg braces, and I might as well give people more to stare at than just the braces. #chronicallyill365 Day 102: I went adventuring today! I walked about a 1/2 mile in total. I needed to go to the pharmacy to pick up a med and also decided to stop at a store that sells all locally made/grown stuff. I figured it would be the perfect opportunity to break in these new braces! Having to learn how to walk properly sucks though. I don't know how to go down the stairs, I kind of waddled my way down, if I lost momentum, I got stuck. Walking wasn't too bad, though it feels super weird walking heel-toe, I have no idea how to do that. The footplates hurt my feet, I'm going to need to ask if there's something I can do for that. When I got home I decided to sit on the deck for a few minutes. It was difficult getting down and once I was down, I was stuck. I had to scoot down the couple of steps so I could stand on the ground, turn around, and make my way up the steps. Getting up into the house was another challenge. I had to pull myself up each stair using the railing. Learning how to do all of that is going to be difficult. I'm kind of thinking I may need to go to physical therapy to learn how do do everything. Now that I have the braces off, I can feel just how noodle-ly my legs are. My feet immediately dropped, my ankles feel unstable, my legs in general feel like jello. #chronicallyill365 Day 85: These legs are going to have a new exoskeleton in 2 weeks! They will both have a SMO/AFO combo and the left will have a separate knee brace, which means no KAFO!
