8x16 — 'THE LAST ALARM' Following the tragic events at the lab, the 118 must come together to lay their fallen hero to rest. Meanwhile, despite her own grief, Athena re-investigates the death of a child to help a grieving mother. | Air Date: 05/01/2025
Athena’s parents are there! And Bobby’s mom and brother.
🥺😢
I'm kind of obsessed with the plot shown in the 8x11 promo. What do you mean Bobby's Mom is Miss Scarlett from Clue (1985)? What do you mean that the very catholic Bobby's mom is a faith healer? How did the house wife leaving her alcoholic fire fighter husband seen in the flash back of 7x8 turn in to faith healing Miss Scarlett!? What do you mean Bobby didn't tell Athena that his mom was still alive?
I love when 911 goes full soap opera, and I hope this is so soapy some people think it was made with cilantro. I want to find out that he not only didn't tell Athena about his mom, but he also never told Marcy about his mom. I want Bobby's Mom and Brother so out of touch with Bobby that they have no idea about his first marriage, dead kids, and the apartment fire. I want Athena to pull a gun on her in laws. I want Bobby's family to assume that Buck is Bobby's kid and somehow are never corrected.
How do you feel about Bobby forgiving his mom? I’m so beyond tired of the show doing this and now it’s going to happen with Helena 🙄
Yeah, I think we'll just have to learn to accept that this show will never address parental abuse or neglect the way it should be addressed.
I understand why they wanted Bobby to forgive his mom. It was mostly because she was dying of cancer. But even her dying of cancer doesn't take away that she knowingly abandoned her son in his alcoholic father's care.
And further more I didn't like the way she treated Charlie either. She obviously kept him around as some kind of aid for her scam business. Charlie didn't seem to have any agency of his own. He just followed his mother and did what she told him to do, even at the age that he is now. That is just not right.
Then there is the way they talked about Tim Nash. They presented him as someone who would be proud of Bobby, but they neglected to dig deeper and acknowledge that Tim caused Bobby heaps of trauma as well.
And now we are going back to the Diaz family in 8x12. Tim already kinda addressed the fact that Ramon isn't going to be the big problem here. Helena will be the problem. So yeah, ideally I would love for Eddie to give both of his parents a piece of his mind, talk to Chris and decide to go back to LA.
Since this is 911, this won't happen. There will be trouble with his mother, no doubt. But I'm pretty sure that they'll find some kind of scenario where Eddie and Helena will meet each other somewhere in the middle and they'll reconcile once again. Because that is the way 911 seems to operate.
Helena and Ramon will probably realise they were wrong at some point because of something Christopher says to them. Then they'll most likely help Eddie and Chris to go back to LA by helping them sell Eddie's house in Texas.
Do I like this idea? No. Is it likely to happen? Yes.
I've accepted it. This is just how they resolve these issues in the 911 universe.
Now, I won't stop hoping. I pray that they'll manage to surprise me with some genuine emotional clashes between Eddie and his parents and Eddie speaking his mind, telling them (not asking or pleading) that he is taking Chris and going back to LA. If his parents do show remorse at that, that is fine. I won't mind. But I want Eddie to not forgive them just like that and make them work for forgiveness. Even if it takes years.
The Diaz parents' actors are really good at their job, Ryan and Gavin are really good as well. It would be a treat to watch a scene like that unfold.
But I won't hold my breath.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
bobby's mother becoming a faith healer and traveling the country for decades with the son who stayed by her side, trying to ease the pain of others after losing her husband to alcoholism and her youngest son to the burden of caring for him, only to end up with terminal cancer gagged me ngl
Anirudh finally comes back to us, Bobby makes peace with his mother, and Buck has his feelings realization?
Tomorrow is going to be a lot!
I need to know if Athena has met her in-laws or not???
