You know what would be interesting? If Gilbert's father had married Marilla after Gilbert's mother died and Mathew still decided to adopt a kid when it became clear that Gilbert won't be a farmer. I'd love to see how living under the same roof would affect Anne's and Gilbert's relationship.

People are mad because awae's Gilbert is different from the Gilbert of the aogg books. Like, he doesn't realise his feelings for Anne and he dares to snap back when she hurts him.

Is it bad though?

I think they focus too much on Anne at this point, like she should get away with whatever she does to Gil. In the books, she ignores this amazing young man for FIVE YEARS over some dumb innocent joke! She yells at him, she's rude and mean for no reason, and the only thing that makes her "forgive" him is when he gives up his job for her.

I don't know about you, but i really prefer awae's version of their relationship. They've got their problems, but they deal with them one by one, and Gilbert is never portrayed as someone who's not aware of his selfworth, he understands that his world isn't limited to her, he sees other girls too, which is much more realistic. Also, he's not delusional about Anne's mistakes, he points them out to her and... he loves her all the same.

And I love it.

Scenes I wish would happen in future

1. Gil and Anne arguing and shouting: I love you while arguing

2. Them lieing down looking into stars all snuggle up on some hey, or blanket, just playing with eachothers hair or hands

3. Billy saying something stupid about Anne and Gilbert keeping his promise from s1

4. Gilbert coming to Anne's house to awkwardly ask Marilas and Matthews permission to court Anne... and they being the best, most supportive parents a girl could wish for

5. Bashes reaction when he finds out

6. Anne and Gil looking after Deli together and Marila looking at them with hearty eyes

7. Matthew talking to Gilbert seriously like a concerned father

8. Gil being cheeky and eager to touch Anne and doing all sorts of tricks to do so while they're in public

9. Very honest conversation between them about Anne's past and Gilbert's family

10. Them together fighting for children in residential schools, coming up together with ideas of how to fight the system.

11. Anne taking Gilbert to old indian lady so he can learn some natural medicine ways

12. Gilbert using skills he learned to save somebody's life

13. Gil being extremly jealous when some boy at queens keep talking to Anne

14. Both families spending christmas together, they would probably invite ms. Stacy as she's alone in Avonlea.

15. Jerry acting like a big brother telling Gil that if he hurts Anne he will regret it and Gilbert feeling proud that so many people love his Anne girl.

16. Anne being clumsy and falling into a ditch and Gilbert commenting on it while helping her out

17. Somebody mentioning their future children and Gilbert saying something about him hoping they will have same beautiful hair as Anne while she is freaking out about it...

18. Them dancing together in some field or barn (love that scene from 85' movies)

Well... I could probably write at least 100 coz I love this show so much... it's not typical love story, Anne and Gilbert reminds me of me and my partner, we are best friends, can talk all night, support eachother and are passionate about eachothers dreams and aspirations.

Their happy ending isnt the wedding but them growing old together.

I have no idea😂. But I think my eyes are fine? They're this super dark shade of brown.

boardwalk: who is your favourite fictional couple?

Anne and Gilbert hands down. Beth and Benny come close second. Elizabeth and Darcy can take the third place. ACTUALLY RON AND HERMIONE. Ok, I don't usually pay much attention to ships, but when I find a ship that meets my standards? I'm crazy about them. I also like these ships that get together at the last second because I have a tendency to "unship" once the characters get together. 🎇yearning🎇 Although my favourite fictional relationship of all time is Jo/Laurie. That one's for sure.

tidal: what is a colour that best describes your personality?

Any shade of purple and dark brown maybe? I think? I'm a human contradiction so I'm sometimes red.
