ah, yeah. i’ve finally been able to work on my own schedule now that i’m living by myself and it’s done wonders for my output, not to mention that i’m doing nanowrimo, so that’s certainly been motivating for me. the updates should be pretty steady at least for a little while. not so sure about the holidays, because, you know, they’re the fuckin holidays and the bane of my existance, but we’ll see :) hope you’re enjoying the chapters though! i know it’s a lot :// so

Thank you for writing such a real plot! Also, question (again)- are we allowed to know what went through Yoongi’s driver head when he picked the boy up

hi star (assuming this is you). don’t worry, i didn’t really take it like that. but i’m sure that this chapter was... not what you were hoping, and i don’t blame you. i mean, if i were you i’d be pretty pissed personally, which doesn’t take away from liking it.

point it, that’s not really what i meant and i’m sorry if it came across like i thought that! i always appreciate your feedback and questions and stuff, so i didn’t mean it in a bad way.

about your question. i’m never going to write from anyone else’s perspective in the fic, because from the start it’s been intended as more of a character study than anything else. also i’ve already set a precedent. breaking from that wouldn’t make any sense. (i don’t know for sure if that’s what you meant, but i figured i’d explain anyways.) however, you do bring up a good point... i might write some outside povs for it if i have the time. i would like to give some more perspectives on jimin’s situation and how him and yoongi interact, because let’s be real, jimin isn’t the most reliable narrator.

that wasn’t your question though! i got off track. since this isn’t something i would write, i will just plain tell you because why not. :) yoongi’s driver is actually someone that he’s known for most of his life and considers something of an older brother, even though he has an older brother already. he’s somebody that yoongi talks to about personal issues, especially now that he’s separated from the rest of his family in a different fucking country. so he wouldn’t really be ‘surprised’ per se, because based on what yoongi’s told him and what he’s seen himself of jimin, this guy doesn’t like him. he probably would have tried to convince yoongi to come home with him that night, honestly. or at least not stay at jimin’s. so, more than anything he would be completely pissed off and probably go ahead and tell yoongi that (if not right away, to spare his feelings, definitely at some point in the near future). he would also want to straight-up pulverize jimin for fucking with yoongi like that, but because yoongi is protective of jimin (now that he’s more familiar with jimin’s actual situation), he would definitely prevent that from happening. so his head would be a combination of (a) concern for yoongi and his mental state, as well as his dignity, (b) absolute fucking bloodlust for jimin, and (c) anger at himself that he didn’t stop the whole thing from happening. 

hope that that answered your question. and if you’re interested, do look out for alternate pov things. i would probably post them on here just to avoid having to make a separate thing on ao3 when they aren’t going to really be ‘official’ parts of the story.

Star here, just finished reading, oh my fucking god. Wow. I hate Jimin’s father so fucking much and I know Jimin is going through some awful shit but I strongly dislike his attitude towards poor, sweet Yoongi. But also Yoongi should have been a bit more mindful about the timing. I’m also sorry for him because he got kicked out in nothing but a large tshirt and hickies all over him... that must have been humiliating. Question- how old are Jimin and Yoongi?

Star cont.- I’m not gonna lie, that chapter fucked me up, but that’s also why I love this fic so much. Please tell me Jimin starts accepting help in the next chapter TT

that’s a very valid reaction, i think. it’s fair to hate the circumstances but also hate Jimin’s way of dealing with it. i think that it’s important to remember that jimin (fictional jimin) is just a person and he’s bound to do things that we don’t like or think are good for him or others. he will absolutely fuck up, even if he is the main character. and that’s okay. it’s definitely understandable to be upset with him and his reaction of what happened, on top of many other things that he’s been doing wrong.

what’s important isn’t that he’s a perfect character, but that he’s one that grows. which is the plan. i can’t promise things will get better anytime soon, but i can tell you that things will get better at some point. jimin needs a reason to change, a real one, and slowly but surely he is moving towards that. when things hit a certain point, he has to realize that the way he’s living isn’t healthy or sustainable.

i can’t tell you anything else. sorry :( i don’t like to give too much away before i post, and i certainly don’t want to give you false hope, so i’ll just leave it at that.

also, to answer that question: jimin is eighteen, yoongi is ninteen. they were born the same year (89). jimin is just one of those really old kids in his grade (like i always was lol), and yoongi is like, the opposite. jimin was actually initially going to be older, as i was going to have him a grade behind due to... things that happened near the end of middle school, but at the end of the day i left him as an eighteen year old. so everyone is legal.
