OMGGGG ok, so, I'm so glad you've sent this in because I have literally been thinking about this in the context of my Maekar x younger!reader fics and I am kind of obsessed with this aspect of him??? Like it's so random but I just love it because it gives him this rugged look that just adds to his whole picture of gruff grumpiness.
But I can just imagine a younger reader staring right at his face, mentally zooming in on his cheeks, and he's getting super unsettled. It's not been that long since the two of you got married, and he still feels a little insecure about the age difference and the fact that you're this beautiful young woman and he is this haggard old man (although he would never NEVER say this to anyone. He will always pretend he is 100% (hundy p) confident about everything).
"What?" He asked gruffly, narrowing his eyes at you from across the table. "Why do you stare at me so?"
You didn't say anything at first, just continued, then you just hummed a little to yourself, got up from your seat, walked around the table, and plonked yourself in his lap. He's so surprised, freezing a little in his seat as you adjusted yourself into comfort, wrapping one arm around the back of his shoulders and wiggling a little to make sure your legs stayed up across his lap. He's staring at you with shock from under furrowed brows, and you use your other hand to cup the opposite cheek to the one facing you.
"Do you not think I am allowed to stare a little when you are so unfairly handsome? It seems fair payment to me," you answered simply, meeting his eyes with the utmost seriousness. He was silenced, unable to say anything to you in response, and he just continued staring at your face. "And I was staring at you in that way because I was dreaming about kissing your face, all over your cheeks and your scars, and I could control myself no longer."
Again he was frozen in shock, staring at you as you said all of this with not an ounce of teasing in your tone. You leaned forward and pressed your lips to his cheek just above the line of his beard, then a little lower, then over his jaw line, then slowly beginning to tilt his head and moving around all over his cheeks and chin and just becoming more and more obnoxious with it until you were giggling loudly and he was grumbling at you to cease with this nonsense. But he did not make any move to stop you (he actually gripped you tighter around the waist so you would not move) and he had flushed a little red all over his face.
You finally moved to kiss him on the mouth, a long kiss that turned into two and three and kept going until you could no longer breathe, your hand caressing his face the entire time. When you finally pulled away, you pressed your forehead to his, gently breathing and brushing the edges of your lips together.
"Now, explain to me how you got to be so unfairly handsome, because truly, it is not fair on me."

"Do not look at me, the fucking barber has butchered it," Maekar grumbled that evening, returning to your chambers and instantly beginning to throw off his clothes. You were at your vanity, humming and brushing your hair as you waited for your husband to return, and now paused in your actions at your husband's dramatic entrance.
You put the hairbrush down and turned to look at him, raising your eyebrows a little as he faced away from you, undoing all his buttons and laces and finally standing there without his shirt, only in his riding trousers. You smiled a little at the sight of his back, strong and muscled, the line running down the length of it was far too enticing, the smooth skin marked with scars of years passed, and you stood to go over to him.
You ran your hand gently along the skin, smiling pleasantly when he shivered a little, and you moved around him to look at his face. He had gone to have his beard trimmed, stating that it had become unruly and uncomfortable, and as much as you loved him in any way, shape, or form, you could not deny that it was time for a little bit of upkeep.
And though he was right, the line of his beard was a little lower than he usually kept it, exposing more of his cheek than before, you did not mind one bit.
"It is rather nice, I think," you told him softly, running your fingers over the pox-scarred skin.
"Ugh, do not lie to me, that is worse than anything else," he grumbled, scowling at you, but you just shook your head with a smile.
"i believe I told you on our wedding day that I would never lie to you, and I do not lie here either. You look unfairly handsome, and I shall now have to learn combat to fend off all the other ladies who will surely be aiming to steal you away from me."
He gave you a sarcastic smile but it began to melt into a real one, a small thing that would be barely noticeable to anyone but those closest to him. You leaned into him, shivering at the feeling of his soft, warm, skin and nuzzled at the space under his chin, moving up to begin pressing kisses to his cheeks.
"Your scars make you look rugged and handsome, distinguished, do not fret so," you sighed. "And I for one love you in this way, it makes me hot under the collar," you mumbled against his ear. Maekar tilted his head down and met your eyes, his own ablaze, and he quickly hoisted you into his arms, one under your knees and the other at your back.
"Come then, let us see what else can be done under the collar, you beautiful, delicious, vixen."
GUYSSSS GUYS. I need him right now. I want that old man ASAP.
Sorry, this is my charmie rant, and I needed to get it off my chest.
When I look back, shipping charmie really began as an extension of elio and oliver. Many doubted anything real was happening, especially since Armie was married at the time and Elizabeth seemed warm and welcoming toward Timmy. It made sense that people saw their bond as a sweet, family-like friendship rather than anything romantic.
at first, I thought that was a fair judgment too. Like many others, I wished their on-screen chemistry was real, even though I knew that was just my hope talking. Realistically, maybe Armie and Timmy simply had an incredible professional connection that felt like love from the outside.
Now that Armie is divorced, it’s easier to look back and say charmie must have existed. And yes, it’s possible that Armie may have been struggling with a moral tug-of-war for a long time, balancing his commitment to his family with the feelings he had for Timmy. And when that became too heavy and when he couldn’t manage all that pressure, things kind of fell apart around him. it showed in the choices he made and the direction his life took.

This fandom holds a special place in my heart. Somehow, through all the mountains of proofs and shared discoveries, you all helped me believe in charmie again, and that belief feels like a little spark I keep returning to.
So I’m just going to point out the things in armie’s behavior that made me believe in charmie in the first place. Timmy, to me, was a queer kid who fell for the gentle giant and, how could he not? who wouldn’t crush hard on the gigantic beautiful golden retriever of a man!
But Armie’s behavior… that’s where things felt different. If you watch Man from UNCLE promos with Henry Cavill, Armie & Henry are on the same wavelength, friendly but strictly within the bounds of promo professionalism. And this was his pattern throughout other press tours.
Then CMBYN happens and suddenly it’s like we’re looking at a different Armie entirely. His energy with Timmy was so different. He praised him so intensely than he ever has with previous co-stars. Why didn’t that same level of warmth show up with Alicia vikander or Felicity jones? Sure, he was complimentary toward them, but only in the standard professional way actors usually are. With Timmy, though, the way he talked about him, the softness, the pride, the almost starry-eyed tone, like he was in love.
even after filming wrapped, why didn’t Armie ever pull away? Why didn’t he treat Timmy like any other co-star? Armie kept in touch, kept talking to him, FaceTiming him, checking in on him and that’s not typical of a seasoned actor interacting with a newcomer. Veterans don’t just Facetime rookies every day. They don’t keep checking in. They don’t stay that emotionally attached. It’s unheard of.
the biggest tell is how other male co-stars react to Timmy. There’s a competitiveness, or carefulness, in the way they talk about him. Female actresses openly show they love Timmy, but his male co-stars sometimes keep things more diplomatic. Andrew garfield jokingly called him “Little Tim” had a teasing, envious edge. Florence stepped in gently to correct him, saying Timothée is actually tall, as if defending him. Austin Butler is chill but Austin is chill with every human alive. Edward Norton gives “reluctant uncle at a family reunion”, Hugh Grant is slightly more invested but still hovering at arm’s length. No one showed the affection Armie did. No one even came close. It’s night and day.
One might think, why queer & closeted actors would be jealous of Timmy? especially if they want to date him or they’re interested in him romantically? fair point. But, Queer or Straight, Actors are natural competitors, jealousy will spikes when you’re working in the same industry. That’s normal.
But here’s the thing, LOVE doesn’t or shouldn’t make you jealous. Love makes you loud. Proud. Protective. And Armie did all that and more! He showed none of the jealousy others do. He never showed even a hint of envy. Instead, he was Timmy’s biggest cheerleader. Proud of him. Bragging about him. Asking him to present awards. Hyping him like he was his better half. that’s not professional courtesy. That’s LOVE.
People can disagree with me, but the contrast is undeniable. Watch Armie with any other co-star. Watch Timmy with any of his. Nothing comes close to what they shared. I keep waiting for either of them to form that same connection on another project but it hasn’t happened yet. And don’t even get me started on their actual love lives, the chemistry ain’t chemisting. That’s why charmie stays undefeated in my heart, it refuses to die in my chest, It’s burned in there permanently.
Gwynriel’s don’t have to resort to third party places that know nothing of the next 3 books and Elriel’s are pathetic thinking they mean Elaine when the PUBLISHING company made it clear the Valkyrie’s are next. Sjm spoke about them in the past and said they have dark journey’s to face beyond and the romance books they read are a hint to that. Gwyn and Azriel are endgame. Elriel’s need to learn to cope.
This is some bold talk when there has been no promo or merch for your ship at all …Especially when the influencers who went to the acotar series event called yalls theories out directly and said none of it was clues for the next book. But hey believe what ya want🤷🏻♀️

In a recent video on YouTube , Uwe Boll said that the presumed release date of the film should be June 19. I believe, I hope the trailer will be out soon, but as for the press tour, there's still nothing. No official news at the moment! 🤷♀️
