so i went to go listen to the new tmagp episode today

but i didn't check the episode title before i messaged my friend to live-tweet her my listening experience (she's on the patreon so she gets early listens)

and in the spirit of alex j newall himself i decided to lean into the magnussy jokey joke

I have actually never read Sophie's World! A family friend did recommend I read it when I was young, but my parent confused it for Sophie's Choice and so I embarked on that tragic roller coaster aged 12.

Reading the synopsis, however, I can absolutely see why you asked! Both the main characters and the world-building are quite similar. But my main inspiration for ET was actually a real life human person I knew (he didn't do a murder, nor was he a mayor, he was just a guy who was really into both philosophy and storytelling).
