Na'vira, the forest Navi who became a part of the already mated pair with the Olo'eyktan and Tsahik of the village, Awa'atlu. In the village, she brings calm and peace when helping the elders and the younger children. She is the parent whom the kids come to for guidance and reassurance after being in trouble. Though she isn't a warrior, she is still respected as the mate of the Olo'eyktan and Tsahik.
"Fix your stance" Na'Vira says walking around her daughter, Kiakri.
Kiakri holds a bow that fits her body, the string arching as her arm is pulled back.
"Breathe steady, calm your heart, let go when you are ready"
Kiakri lets out a deep sigh through her nose and breathes in through her mouth as she lets the feathered green and blue arrow release from her grasp and hits the fish
"Sa'nok, look at the fish" In the eleven-year-old's hands a blue fish lies still on the arrow
"Clean kill, no pain, we do not kill violently, we make sure the animal's death is immediate"
The girl nods her head at her mother understanding as she takes the arrow out and puts it in the basket filled with others. Another basket lies beside it for the Tsahik as it's filled with herbs from Tsireya, the Tsakarem.
"Are you done Tsireya?" The mother asks her eldest daughter who is filling the herbs basket with more plants waiting to be crushed
"Yes sa'nok" the girl replies grabbing the basket while her younger sister grabs the other one filled with fish
The mother of the two has her daughter's bow in her hand as she walks her daughters back home
"Sempul look look, I got this fish with my bow" Kiakri says to Tonowari.
He looks down at her with a smile, picking her up as he shares his excitement
"I'm proud of you daughter, you will be able to help out the elders with this skill"
Kiakri smiles at this as she shows her brother her catch, though he looks at her with boredom
"Hello, my tìyawn" Tonowari kisses Na'Vira's head, she smiles back at him
"Your daughter shares your excitement when learning about new things"
"Well, she has been begging me for a while now, and even carved out her own bow for this" Na'vira says to her mate as she starts to cook the fish
The sound of footsteps becomes louder as it enters the marui
Ronal walks in with one hand on her stomach
"That forest family is going to kill me one day"
"We have to give them grace, they just lost their son, they are in grieving" Tonowari says to Ronal trying to help her understand the Sully family's struggles after the battle with the RDA
Ronal sighs as she lets go of her annoyance with the family for the day as she walks over to Kiakri and sits down cross-legged, inspecting her hair to see if it needs to be retouched
"Did you see the pink-skinned boy, Sa'nok? He looks weird"
"Not as weird as you" Aonung teases his sister but is hit by his other sister
Kiakri hisses at him, canines sharp as a knife
"The demon needs to go back home; his presence scares the people and is going to become a nuisance " Ronal's irritation comes back as she starts to unravel her youngest braids
Tsireya and Na'Vira continue to work on dinner as Tonowari sharpens his spears
"I just don't get it, why is he here if he can live better in the forest" Kiakri asks her curiosity mixed with her mother's uncertainty about humans living in the village
"The wind traders are coming soon sister, are you excited?" Tsireya changes the subject for her sister
Kiakri jumps up at the mention of wind traders and immediately starts talking about the stuff she is going to give, Ronal struggles to keep up with her as Kiakri continuously moves around in her spot
Jake Sully, the human boy, Loak, and Tsireya are all on a boat as they unload metal sky people weapons
"Tsireya, what are you doing?" Ronal exclaims holding my hand while pushing Aonung back
Tsireya climbs up from the boat with her ears down as she gets grabbed by Ronal, Loak stands by his father who is still in his grieving paint
"This is not the Navi way Jake Sully" Tonowari says with disappointment as he looks at the man
Na'Vira walks in with Neytiri behind her, Na'Vira wears a woven cloth over her shoulders and Neytiri is dressed in traditional funeral paint for her son
The two forest women have become friends since Neytiri arrived at the Metkayina village
"Weapons of metal are forbidden, you know this" Ronal exclaims as Tsireya and Anoung are behind her
"These weapons poison the heart, Eywa will provide"
"You should be with your family instead of gathering these things, your woman needs you, the mourning period is not over"
Ronal points towards Neytiri who calls over her youngest
"Ronal" Na'Vira whispers over, her ears flattening
Na'Vira was always there for Neytiri as moving to another place to replace home is hard as it is and the people who look different from you are not the kindest
The constant bullying and pointing towards the Sully kids, when it comes to their fingers and eyebrows that's when it gets worse
Na'Vira helped guide the younger children when needed, helping Tuk with her breathing and Kiri with learning about the herbs and plants that the sea provides for them
With Neytiri, she was adamant about learning about the sea but she had loosened up towards Na'Vira who would show her how to find the best fish and materials around in the village
Jake Sully and Tonowari converse about Jake Sully not following the Na'vi way though to Sully's dismissal about Toruk and following the proper way
With a harsh sigh, Ronal walks away as Tonowari instructs everybody to leave and walks behind her
Na'Vira looks as her mates walk away
"Come I will guide you back to our spirit tree"
"The Windtraders are here, everybody the Windtraders have arrived"
Walking with Ronal, Na'Vira holds a basket full of items ready to trade
The tsahik of the Windtraders comes towards Ronal with a basket of herbs
Still traveling behind Ronal, Na'Vira trades a necklace with a girl who gives her feathers and beads that can be sewn into a loincloth or made into an accessory top
Na'Vira's ears perk up to Ronal who was already looking at her crouching figure
With an upbeat in her step, Na'Vira follows her mate's steps as they continue their way around the ship
Kiakri a few steps behind her father, playing around with Tuktirey
The two young girls roam trading items that may be regretted later
Ronal and Na'Vira get off the ship and sit close by to keep an eye on the village and people
"I hear the human boy is leaving" Na'Vira says to Ronal
"Good, he is not wanted here, he causes fear in the people and we can not have that" Ronal says with no remorse in her voice
"He is but a child Ronal, he could do no harm to a village full of warriors"
Grabbing Ronal's upper part of her arm and lower part of her belly, Na'Vira helps her mate up from her sitting position
"He can bring back the demon ships, that whole family is cursed, they bring no good"
"To be fair you and Aonung have not been the best towards the family for them to bring good to us"
"They fought with the clan Ronal, I understand the need to protect your home but you are taking it too far, their son lies with our ancestors "
"Fine but the human boy will have to go"
"How is Kiakri and her bow, she seems to be enjoying it, she carries it around everywhere" Ronal changes the subject and relaxes a little bit, the tension leaving her face and body
Na'Vira smiles at her daughter's actions with her bow
"She wants to be warrior like my people, though I do not know if that will work here in the reef" Na'Vira worries about her daughter's connection with her clan, as she is part forest and part reef
Her body though some parts slim like a forest Navi, Kiakri still faces some barriers when in the water, her tail and arms though less thick than her siblings still provide enough for her to travel efficiently through the water
"We will make do with what your clan carries, her ancestors run in her blood, it will not stop her from becoming a warrior" Ronal reassured Na'Vira, putting a hand over her heart, kissing her mate
Na'Vira leans in with her hands on Ronal's thicker arm
"It seems I am missing the fun"
Ronal pulls away turning her head towards the tall man who stands behind her
"My tìyawn" Ronal kisses Tonowari who then pulls away from her and kisses Na'Vira
"The Windtraders will be leaving soon, Kiakri almost fell asleep on the ship, I had to carry her home" he says exhausted from carrying both his daughter and duties on his back
"Like her mother" Ronal shades as she remembers the days she and Tonowari first met Na'Vira
Na'Vira scrunched her face up in denial
"I was not wild, I was... new to the environment" Na'Vira tries to defend herself as if her claim was going to hold against her mates
"You almost poisoned a group of people because you did not fully gut multiple fish, nor did you clean them properly" Tonowari says
"How do these look" Na'Vira asks the young couple and new leaders
"They look weird and uncooked" Tonowari looks at the food with disgust, his nose scrunched up
"Did you cook the fish?" Ronal asks as she continues to poke the fish with her knife
"Well yes, I feel like you guys are judging me, it is very hurtful, it is my first time cooking" Na'Vira exclaims her hand over her heart
"Your first time cooking like since you were born or like since you have arrived here" Tonowari looks at her with genuine curiosity with seems to hurt Na'Vira even to the point her ears flatten
Her lips tremble and her eyes start to water as she looks at the couple for their approval
Ronal lets out a hesitant sigh but looks up to the sound of retching and gagging
A group of around five men, warriors stand near bushes as they throw up their food
"My food is not that bad" Na'Vira hisses at the men who she claims are being dramatic
"You already gave people some of this stuff?" Ronal questions as she grabs her tsahik supplies
Na'Vira' shakes her head yes and with that, Ronal walks out of the marui and gathers the food her friend had cooked
"You don't think it looks bad do you?"
The sight of Na'Vira with her ears flattened and eyes watering tugs at Tonowari's heart as he struggles to be truthful or dishonest to the Navi he calls a friend
"Ugh, it looks edible and healthy" Tonowari holds his truth to his own dismay
"Will you eat some of it?"
"But it will not last, it will be spoiled"
"You are not funny Tonowari"
Tonowari looks around with genuine confusion as he had not had the intention of being funny
A laugh can be heard outside of Marui
"Ronal" Na'Vira says sharply towards the young tsahik
Ronal sighs as she walks towards her, a basket filled with fish that was cooked by Na'Vira
"I will have to add cooking to our lessons"
"What did I do wrong now?"
"Well firstly you did not gut the fish properly, then it is not fully cooked and there are still some bones in the fish, and some other things"
Na'Vira snaps her head towards Tonowari with a frown etched on her face
"Do not laugh at me" Na'Vira looks at her mates who seem to be running out of breath as they continue to laugh
"You cook?" Tonowari questions as he had immediately stopped laughing at the threat of Na'Vira cooking
Though Ronal does not seem to care
"Yes, I had cooked last moon rise"
"I knew that could not be the cooking of Ronal"
"Tonowari!" Na'Vira slaps him on the chest as she turns sharply to walk away to go back home
"She is mad at us now" Ronal exclaims
Ronal grabs Tonowari's hand and walks back to the Windtraders ship to bid them goodbye
Tsireya, Aonung, Kiakri, and Roxto sit around on a large walk as they notice Na'Vira making herself to them
Tsireya and Kiakri walk to their mother, Kiakri though has a speed in step as Tsireya takes her time
"Hi my sweet child" Na'Vira grabs her youngest to pull her in for a hug, her small body that can only wrap around her mother's lower back
Tsireya hugs her mother by her side
Both sisters were engulfed in their mother's arms and affection
"Aonung" though embarrassed to hug his parent in front of his friend, makes his way to give a slight hug
Though not biologically part of the family, Roxto still holds a part in Na'Vira's heart as he is always around Tsireya and Aonung, and also grew up with them
"I have a question for you all" Na'Vira says though nervous to ask
The children look at her prepared for anything to be answered
"Do you think I can cook?"
"No" Kiakri says with no mercy in her voice and no thought behind her answer
"I am starting to regret ever teaching you how to use a bow"
Na'Vira looks at the other children as they stand around with hesitant faces
"Uhm, I think I heard my grandmother calling me, see you later guys" Roxto waves goodbye to his friends and their mother as he quickly walks away from the situation at hand
'Why would he leave me here' Aonung mutters to himself
"Uhmm, I think you can have some problems when cooking, Mom, but it is definitely not as bad as mother and father make it out to be"
Tsireya nods her head at her brother's answers but stops when her mother's eyes narrow
"Why are you lying? Mommy can't cook at all, I threw up my food last moon rise"
Na'Vira's face fell and the last bit of hope she got from her elder children had disappeared
Kiakri hisses at her second-oldest sibling
With a sign, Na'Vira says no and walks behind her children as the sight of the marui comes into view
