'Playing with each other's fingers' and 'short pecks'!
Eiji shifted against Ash, with his feet tucked under his calves and his knees rested against Ashâs hip. His head lolled onto Ashâs shoulder and he sighed contently when he felt Ash lift an arm and drape it over his shoulder, rubbing small circles into it.
He loved evenings like theseâpressed together on the couchâthey always felt so domestic and warm.
Home. The thought overflowed Eijiâs heart with contentment and comfortâthe home that he and Ash had found in each other had manifested into something physical. Something permanent. The feeling swam through his veins and into the tips of his fingers; he just had to reach out and anchor himself on pale fingers.
Eiji didnât quite press their hands togetherâ he tugged on Ashâs fingers, his heart stuttered as Ash shifted himself closer: just so Eiji could get a better grip on his hand. The weight of it left his shoulder and brushed against his waist before landing in his lap.
He cradled Ashâs hand in both of his own, calloused palms cushioned soft fingers; his fingertips grazed over Ashâs with a feather-light touchâsimilar to the feather-light breaths that grazed his neck. He shivered and took the tip of Ashâs index finger between his thumb and his own, gently squeezing.
Ashâs hands were beautiful, Eiji thought whist he played with them, as if sculpted of porcelain by Hephaestus himself. Veins marbled fair skin with hues of soft blues and purples; rose dusted too.
'Theyâre pretty,' he hummed nonchalantly and smiled as he watched Ash fumble to lace their hands together.
Eiji looked up and caught Ashâs tender gaze in his own. He flushed and grinned, nodded with fervour.
Leaning into Ash further, he lifted his headâ and Ash squeezed their interlocked hands together, lifted his other to cup Eijiâs jaw.
He felt so loved. Ash cradled Eijiâs face, ran a thumb along his jaw, treated him with a gentleness that caused his heart to cry out and ache. Eiji wanted to be closer. His eyes fluttered shut as he leant into the soft touches furtherâ his poor heart desperate to be enveloped in the same tender hold as his jaw.
Ash's breath fanned across his parted lips. He whined softly and leant in closer once moreâ he just wanted a kiss! Eiji had felt Ash shift against him again; the gap between them ceased.
'I love you,' Ash murmured against his lips. He could hear the smile in his voice, could feel it pressed to his mouth.
Eiji's heart stuttered to a halt. Doe-eyes flew open, wide and full of love. He felt dizzy. It felt like his face was on fire: like his heart was going to burst out of his chest and start running victory laps around the front room.
So who could blame Eiji when he brought both handsâthe pair now interlacedâto Ash's face, locking his target in place. He peppered him with kisses. No part of his face was safe from the attack! His nose, forehead, eyes and cheeks; the lobes of his ears and his chin too.
Eiji's heart soared at Ash's reaction; he giggled and squirmedâhis laugh was lilting and enticingâand it encouraged Eiji to press another kiss to the corner of Ash's beaming mouth. One more, flushed to his lips, too.
Ah, to be nineteen again.
