Olicity Classic Fic Rec - Dust to Dust by Anthfan

As much as I love discovering new fics to read, I still find myself going back to some “classics” that always entertain me as I reread and give me great Olicity feels. I recently reached out to Anthfan because I really love her work and asked if it would be okay if I did some artwork for her earlier work. @anthfan kindly (enthusiastically, whew) agreed, and so here we have a cover I made for “Dust to Dust.” 

In this story, something terrible happens and Felicity is sent reeling. She gets some out of town support. And M-rated stuff happens. I won’t say anything more and I hope that no one gives away the plot points in the comments. There are cool surprises. 

“Dust to Dust” combines wonderful elements (grief, love, intrigue, friendship, action, and a helping of delightful smut) all into one really satisfying story. I hope that if you haven’t read it, you’ll put it on your list. And if you have, maybe you’ll revisit it.

Fic writers appreciation Mondays - #5

Many of the first fics I ever read were written by @anthfan. In fact, I think I read almost everything she wrote that is available on AO3!

She’s basically the queen of trope (pun intended)! I read the following fics more than I care to admit!

Here are my favorites!

1° - Queen of Hearts -  Felicity finds herself pregnant, but she and Oliver don’t remember how it happened.

Started 2 years ago, maybe one of the most awaited fics in the fandom. This is a pregnancy trope, set in season 2 (hi office!Oliver) and there is so much goodness! WIP

2° -  Tell Me a Story -  When Felicity needs a date to her cousin’s wedding, Oliver comes to her rescue. As the weekend progresses changes in their relationship develop.

Did I mention I love tropes ?! This is the fake relationship one, and oh boy, do things escalate quickly! COMPLETE

3° -  Times Like These -  A man from Felicity’s past she never thought she’d see again suddenly appears in Starling City, bringing with him memories she’d rather keep forgotten, and a new threat.

This should be dubbed Times of Angst. Action, angst and smut of course! You’re in for looong nights of reading! COMPLETE

4° -  Once and Future Queen -  When Tommy Merlyn’s child shows up at the doorstep of Verdant abandoned by her mother, Oliver and Felicity agree to pose as her parents. In the process of raising Tommy’s daughter, they grow closer to each other.

Another trope! I did mention I love them right ? Oliver and Felicity have to take care of Tommy’s baby and of course have to stay close to one another to do that! COMPLETE

5° -  Tango - After a mission goes wrong Felicity and the team have to deal with the ramifications, and how to handle her going undercover once again. Features an a/u where Tommy lived.

Tommy lives! Need I say more? COMPLETE

I need fics of Noah "keeping tabs" on Felicity. Was he proud when she got into MIT? Did he somehow threaten Cooper to keep Felicity's involvement a secret (even though he is amazed by what she made). Was he worried when the Undertaking happened and he didnt know if Felicity was safe? Did he watch from afar when she was made Oliver's EA, and secretly delete online gossip articles that called Felicity names? What did he think about her engagement? Her injury? Her "wedding"? i nEED TO KNOW

I’m laughing hard because I’m reading @anthfan ‘s Hope in the Darkness and there’s a line by Diggle

“ “You do know if you hurt her I will kill you and your body will never be found.”

And this was THREE SEASONS EARLIER than when Diggle said it in canon. Anth is a genius :))

Olicity Pregnancy Trope combined with drugged one night stand. 

A fic based on tropes, but so brilliantly written you can’t help but love it!! anthfan draws you in with every word and I’ve definitely read this through a couple times. It’s one of those fic where I read the update as soon as I see it, no matter what time of the day or night!!
