Antis are so dense there's no point in trying to change their minds 🙄
Anyway here's a little video of Billy lmao
Antis weaponising trauma is so fucking annoying. You guys know jack shit about the authors writing dark works but I'm gonna be real with you, most people have trauma and writers usually draw from a well of it. Read between the lines brother
Sansa and Arya's fights are so light compared to the ones I had with my brothers and sisters when I was eleven
We are fine and Sansa and Arya will be fine when they reunite again

A reminder that fandom was literally MADE as a safe space to go wild and play around with fictional characters. So go do that. Go ship what you wanna ship, go headcanon what you wanna headcanon, fictional characters are fiction. As long as you aren’t hurting real people with it, it’s a-okay.
There are lots of problems with Harry Potter (and the fandom, let's be honest) but I think the biggest issue is that people take the canon so seriously but...... Rowling really isn't a great writer.
She claims to be a feminist, but her the majority of her female characters can barely pass the Bechdel Test.
Most of the characters are just so one dimensional and poorly written. This is kinda fine, because it's a series written for children at the end of the day, but the issues crop up when people latch onto a character and either villanise them completely or idolise them blindly.
Hermione, Snape, Draco, Ginny and Sirius are the biggest victim of this treatment in my opinion.
Hermione is incredibly smart and talented, but she's also socially stunted, a little bit ruthless and tends to act like a 'saviour' without asking how she can actually help those people she assumes just NEED her help.
Snape isn't a great person, but he is complex and is one of the greatest tragedies in my opinion. How much more of a gut punch would it have been if Snape had remained completely impersonal towards Harry, and it was only from OOTP onwards that we learned about his connection to the Potters? Instead of Harry loathing him from the very start, it would have been so much more interesting if Harry had always viewed Snape the same way he did Flitwick or Sprout..... With the respect they deserve as his teachers, but not much else. The emotional conflict Harry would have felt upon finding out how badly Snape was bullied by the Marauders would have held more weight, because instead of him trying to justify it in his mind because he'd always hated Snape, he probably would have been a lot more sympathetic and would have immediately viewed his father in a different light.
And the reveal in HBP with Snape 'betraying' Dumbledore....... Again it would have hit harder, because we wouldn't have spent six books already seeing Snape as an antagonistic force from Harry's perspective.
I've always said that the Snape we got was terrible, but the Snape we could have had is FASCINATING.
Ginny gets dumbed down a lot by the fan base, but I really think the movies did her so dirty in that regard.
Sirius, just like Snape, is an incredibly complicated character. Growing up in a toxic household can't have been easy (this is also a parallel that could have been explored between Sirius and Snape. Both grew up in extremely toxic, probably abusive households, but one was living in poverty and the other in wealth. What if Snape had found himself a James, a character who treated him as a brother and welcomed him with open arms...... I guess we'll never know)
Anyway, Sirius grew up with parents who openly despised him. His time in Azkaban must have been horrendous, and we know that he stayed sane because he knew he was innocent, but he still had no time to healthily process the grief of losing his best friend. It's almost understandable that he antagonises Snape in OOTP, because he has these preconceived notions of him from their childhood. When Sirius was sent to Azkaban it was no secret that Snape was a Death Eater, and when he gets out the only person he really talks to about Snape is Harry, who also despises Snape. So it's just like an echo chamber.
Rowling created such complicated characters, and then did the absolute LEAST with them. It's little wonder that so many people have such strong feelings about them, both positive AND negative. All these characters are actually so hollow, which makes it easy to project your vision onto them, be it good or bad.
If you're one of those people who either absolutely ADORES or DESPISES a character, maybe it's time to look a little closer. Flaws aren't a bad thing, if your favourite character has flaws and you can acknowledge them then I respect that. I personally LOVE Ron, but I can also see how hurtful and blunt he can be, and how he projects his self-esteem issues on everyone around him (sometimes cruelly).
If you're an extreme lover or hater who disagrees with me, that's fine. As I said, this series was made for children, and if you struggle to see a character as a multi-faceted, complex individual then maybe these children's books are perfect for you.
Just remember that it's not that serious.
Oh, and fuck JKR
Here's something to use whenever you get a hate anon from an anti.
