Hey, been thinking about your doc alot since I read it in terms of how I want to continue with my own writing and reading habits.
I hope this isn't a stupid question or too taxing for you to answer considering you just essentially wrote a dissertation, but what are your processes for finding, reading and interacting with truly inclusive 'x Reader' fics these days?
i think i suggested to start with bipoc authors and i included some questions to consider when reading/reblogging that should be in the doc, but i'll add some of my more personal opinions here today and tag some author recs while i'm yapping:
Agreeing with all of your points except one: Satan has INSANE genderfluid swag just look at his fucking fits a cis dude can't put those together (def not projecting teehee) he and Asmo are the opposite ends of the spectrum. Do you see the vision
thing is. normally, i tend to avoid looking at satan's outfits (minus the halloween fit). but now that we're talking, his outfits are SO messy that i'm considering they might be queer person levels of messy.
he gives me the vibes of. gender is whatever is funniest in the moment rn.
for the choose violence ask game: 1, 3, 6, 8, 12 :) [sorry if you've already answered these!]
No prob^^ ( I have multiple answers for mist of those anyway xd)
1. A character everyone gets wrong
I know I said I can't really think of a Single one here, b u t. I just thought of something and I suddenly felt like I had to yap about it, lmao.
I've seen so many people talk about how much book!Stebbins' death sucked, and about how he should've been offed by the Major, and- this might sound rude, but I d o feel like those people actually miss a huuuge part of his character arc/ storyline.
Because yes- his story d o e s revolve all around the Major basically. And I feel like this, along with the Stebbins' fixation on the guy tends to lead some peeps to believe that Stebbins must've been somehow " special " or " relevant " to the Major too, in a way. When pretty much the whole point is that he i s n 't.
Stebbins, and I love him to death, was absolutely nothing special in regard. To the Major, he's just one of many- not only one of many boys on the walk, but also one of many children. If he even KNEW about that in the first place ( it's pretty obvious that he knows in the movie but. The book is a bit more vague there, me thinks) he's just as much of a triviavility as the other boys. And his death in the movie actually emphasis this, imo. In the movie, he decides that he wants to go out on his own terms- not only that, but his father is basically...right there, the whole time.
And yet, the one who eventually pulls the trigger is n o t the Major but some random soldier instead. Because this boy's dad just. Does n o t care enlugh to even do t h a t. His character arc, ir rather the end of it is s u p p o s e d to feel " unfinished" and " unsatisfying", I fear. And that's actually even more of a tragedy, imo </3
Random addition, but I also cannot, for the life of me understand, how some people can call book!Stebbins " lame". The boy literally w a l k e d himself to d e a t h. If anything, his death in the movie seems almost " gentler" in a way. At least t h a t one was quick </3
3. screenshot or description of the worst take you've seen on tumblr
Again, not sure wether it's really the w o r s t but. I keep thinking of that one post zhat I've come across a while ago. And it basically talked about how every one of the tlw characters is " unlikeable" in the book.
Everyone is free to form and have their own opinions of course, but this take still gave me the ick😭
6. which ship fans are the most annoying?
I can't really think of a specific one if I'm being honest, b u t. I'm generally not a fan of those types of shippers who get so...super strict about their ships? ( does this make sense? xd).
Maybe I'm just " too old" for that type of shipping discourse at this point, but I always find it kind of...exhausting when people immediatly " flip" because other people might ship different things than they do ^^'
Sure, no one us obliged to like every ship, and it's perfectly fine to dislike some pairings/ have those pairings that you just wouldn't want to separate. But...I don't really get why some peeps feel the need to get offensive over it, istead of just...ignoring the content they don't like :/
8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about
Okay, this one is actually a rather "small " thing, but a lot of peeps seem to be of the opinion that the ending of the book was bad. And I just...don't agree actually.
Yes, it feels unsatisfying. Yes, it feels bleak and unresolved and empty. But that's because it's supposed to feel like that. I have quite a lot to say about this actually, but I don't want to ramble too much again, lmao.
All in all, I think that the ending of the book is actually so fitting for this story. Something about it really highlights the whole pointlessness of the walk.
12. the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them
Not necessarily unpopular, but still underrated- Abraham </3 ( and Scramm too. )
I miss Abe as a friend to both, Collie and Art- but especially as a friend to Collie somehow? We didn't get too many scenes between them in the book, but. I still would've loved to see their interactions on screen.
I liked their dynamic a lot, and I'll never be not sad about the fact that he was cut from the movie, I fear. Yes, he wasn't a main character in the book, but he was still a part of their group? And he was even among those who pulled through for a pretty long time in the nook. I couldn't help but feel like there was something missing without him in the movie.
There's also something so painfully ironic about the way he ended up on the walk, idk. The fact that he didn't take the application serious at all, was completely bullshitting his way through that test and yet. He still ended up getting " picked".
There's something even more painfully ironic about how the idea of not helping each other anymore actually came from h i m in the book. And how the promise that h e himself came up with was basically...the reason why no one helped him out when he got ill/ when he was feeling </3
All in all. He's actually so interesting. Despite the fact that he's " only" a side character...
Also, thanks for the ask <3
Me realising it's my fan fiction and I can do anything with it
(Insert evil manical laughter)
Man-hating feminists aren't real they're just a stalking horse of the right
I know that? I was being sarcastic, making fun of MRAs and the like who blame women for incels, like that post was.
asheiji for the kiss prompt 12?? THANK U <333
12. a hoarse whisper “kiss me”
Ash curls up pathetically with the blanket Eiji put around him, feeling more at home here in this filthy subway than he ever has in Dino's elaborate mansions.
He thinks he might fall asleep like this.
"Eiji?" Ash mumbles. His eyes are closed, but it doesn't matter. He still can't see.
"I'm here," Eiji murmurs. His voice is comforting in such an innate way. Something Ash never thought he would feel. "Just rest."
Ash whines a little, low in his throat. He opens his eyes to the harsh, blurry world. Looks over at where he knows Eiji is. It's almost worse, the blurriness, than with his eyes closed. At least with his eyes closed he knows he can rely on his other senses, but with his vision fucked, it feels like his body is constantly betraying him. And he knows too well what that's like.
"Don't leave," Ash warns.
"I won't," Eiji promises. "Can I sit next to you, Ash?"
"Yes. Please." The last word is almost foreign to Ash when he's around his gang, but Eiji brings out a different side of him. Not the side around his gang, but not the side around Dino or his clients either. Something almost like ... himself, or what he might want himself to be.
Ash feels the warmth from Eiji's body near him, feels the scratchy blanket shift with Eiji's weight.
Ash closes his eyes, turning his face toward Eiji.
"Kiss me," he says, almost like a command. It's hoarse, whispered, and desperate.
Eiji laughs under his breath. "No, thanks."
Ash recoils. He ... wasn't expecting that. "Why not?" he asks. Is he too dirty for Eiji, now? After everything that happened while he was under Dino's care, he wouldn't blame Eiji for not wanting him. But he had been through so much worse before this most recent time, and Eiji had never seemed to mind touching him. So why ... ?
"You wouldn't be able to see what I'm doing. That's not fair. And I don't think now is the best time. We can try when all of this is over, okay?"
Ash nods. Curls up a little more.
If any of this is ever over.
"I'm going to place a hand on your shoulder, okay?" Eiji whispers.
Ash hums an assent and, despite himself, braces for impact. But when Eiji's touch comes, impact isn't the right word in the slightest. It's soft, comforting, and has Ash wanting to cry in a way no other touch ever has.
When all of this is over.
Blinking back tears in his already blurred vision, Ash leans into Eiji's touch.
I want it to be over already.
Kiss prompts!
since you are the connoisseur of thigh shots, what are your top 5 thot squat pics? 🧐
Oooo, tough choice, tough choice!!! But one I am happy to contemplate huhuhu~ Hm, let's see...
#5) For them being utterly devoid of shame, as well as for the laugh I got from Kylyn's very obviously stuffed shorts:
#4) For the pleasant lighting, and the aesthetic combo of blood and torn fishnets:
#3) For this entire look being personally suited to my aesthetic tastes, high contrast colors and environmental framing being pleasant to my eye (and also for being my header photo):
#2) For the way the straps dig into Sena's thighs, the rest of his cunty little outfit, and the overal black/white/pink color combo:
#1) For three sets of leggies in one photo, and for the ultimate classic vibes of trashy, slutty men in a venue backroom:
