Fun Fact from AP CEO/Founder Mike Shea: “Switching formats again, AP became an official broadsheet newspaper-sized fanzine—larger than life and a zine that readers would never forget—or so we hoped. It worked! Newsprint was really cheap at the time, so we doubled the amount of content we supplied each issue. More was better, we felt. We wanted a really stark, rebellious photo for the first issue in this size. We went with a shot of a mohawked punk known around town, who had jumped up onstage at the Offbeats' show to sing with lead singer, Doug Enkler. I still love this cover, as it represents everything that was driving AP at the time.”
