I added some sand to the tank since they are technically earth eaters.

And because I just know someone is going to say something about not mixing tropical fish with coldwater fish, I want to remind everyone that goldfish are temperate fish, not true coldwater fish.

The temperature of 75 in this tank is fine for both species. All my fish get a mix of flakes, frozen, freeze dried, and live foods to meet their nutritional needs.

I still need to re-home the Apistogramma macmasteri pair to make room for the A. gephyra that are arriving next week but I'll be honest they've definitely grown on me. They're fascinating to watch and they're a lot prettier in person than I expected, just look at this handsome lad.

I cannot get good photos though, despite how still he is sitting in that video, every single photo I try to take looks like this the moment I finally get the camera focused:
