The lightest of eyes and bluest ones

His paws scattered across, extra thumbs

Mouth askew and screaming oh-so-softly

For he yearned for snack, just one

In his mouth, grasped in his tongue harshly

For there it sat, an apple crisp.

My life in shambles and closing the door.

But I’m suddenly stunned by a guiding light.
