Apples! :D
Now that its finally time for them again, do you prefer caramel apples, candy apples, or regular apples?
(Also +1 headpat)
Regular! All those toppings are fine and dandy, but can be a little overwhelming. Besides, nothing beats the delicious snap of a honeycrisp apple!
+1 headpat!
Do I have apple trees? Yes.
Did I process 4 pies worth & 5 pints of apple butter from them? Yes.
Did I just buy apples from the country store? Hell, yes!
I have no idea what kind of apples my trees are (somewhere in vicinity of 70 years old) beyond one is for eating & one is for baking... plus a crab apple tree for cross-pollination & pectin.
I'm gonna mix & match pie apples & slice some for tartlets.
I'm not a big Sweater Weather Person (like, it's fine but I must confess I can't relate to the overwhelming outpouring of love fall gets from the internet at large every year, possibly because it just reminds me that winter is coming and I hate winter beyond words) and seasonal stuff like pumpkin spice-flavored coffee is...well, let's say it's not something I enjoy (I'm sorry, people, but just...WHY), BUT damn if Fall Cooking Season isn't always a welcome thing in my house. I love cooking always, but this is maybe my favorite time of year to cook and bake.
Oh to be a Moomin whittled from an apple.
