Regulus loves a lot of things.
He loves rain when he is sitting at a window, watching it patter down against the pane while he is reading a book.
He loves animals, especially cats, snakes, crocodiles and all the weird animal creatures that used to exist.
He loves freshly baked brown bread and the smell of it coming out of the oven.
He loves the night and all its marvellous stars and the abstract images they form.
Regulus also loves his friends, Pandora, Barty, Evan, and although he rarely admits it, his brother Sirius.
He loves many things, but his devotion is to only one thing in this life. Probably in every other life.
The sun that warms the air in summer.
The one that brings light into the dark.
That shines the dark thoughts out of his head.
It dazzles, but he won't complain about it.
