List five (or more) characters that you hate (or give you the Ick as the youngsters says). A character that makes you roll your eyes, annoys you or is simply just like a bad spot in a show that you like, and tell us why - we promise not to judge, even if the reason is very very stupid

Disclaimer: these are just my opinions, if you like these characters, I love that for you. Yay that you find joy in them, but maybe don't read this post as it's probably not for you

Also, wanna preface this with that to me there's a difference between characters you're meant to hate, and characters you hate for personal reasons. This will be based on the latter.

Rory Gilmore (later seasons) - Gilmore Girls

She's so fucking annoying and pretentious and omg please make her shut the fuck up. What do you even mean "my Dean"???? HES MARRIED!

Tauriel - The Hobbit

This is a bit unfair, cus it's mostly because of her plot line. I hate the inclusion of the love triangle, it was so unnecessary and it pulls focus from the actual epic and perfect storyline that's already going on. By extension this also makes me dislike Killi and Legolas (tho I like him in the lotr movies). Also hate that they added a woman just to make her the subject of a love plot. BORING!

Bran Stark - Game of Thrones

Again, it's kinda cus of the plotline, and also very coloured by the GoT finale, which I hated. I just think he's so terribly boring. Like I'm sorry but who the fuck cares. I hate the way he is, the way he talks. He's insufferable. Especially in the books tbh. And his haircut is stupid.

Luke's kid (I refuse to say her name) - Gilmore Girls

Again, sorry, it's mostly cus of the storyline. This bitch came and ruined everything and should never have been included in the fucking show. I hate her and I hate her mother so freaking much. When I'm watching GG I stop watching before she comes. I refuse to accept her existence. We could've had Luke and Lorelai wedding, but noooo. Fucking bitch.

Mike fucking Wheeler - Stranger Things

Someone needs to punch him in the face. God, he's just so freaking annoying for no fucking reason. He is SUCH a dickhead. He neglects his friends, he gets super salty over small things, he's an asshole to most people, he's selfish, he's hypocritical, he's insensitive, I mean I could go on. He acts like he can just do whatever the fuck he wants with no consequences, and the worst thing is, HE NEVER GETS ANY! His hair is also stupid. No further comments your honour.

Last but not least, I don't think there's a single character in the history of the universe that I hate as much as I hate this person.

RON FUCKING WEASLEY - Harry Potter

Omg, where do I even start I hate this boy more than I can even express with words. This vicious, selfish, head-so-far-up-his-ass-it's-coming-out-the-other-end of a boy. The biggest reason I feel is pretty obvious, but the way he treats Hermione. And yes, I mean in the book too. He's so rude, always making fun of her or the things she cares about, disguising it as just friendly banter when it's really bullying. He acts as if he owns her, and like she should be punished for doing stuff he doesn't agree with. Oh! And the fact that of all people, he chose to go make out with Lavender Brown, the girl who has been straight up bullying Hermione for YEARS. Like omg WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU????? He gets insanely jealous over super small things, and he is so self centered and overreacts on everything. Constantly victimising himself, never ever acknowledging his privilege being pure blood or anything of the sorts. HE RUINED HERMIONES BALL, and I don't think we talk enough about that. And if we take Cursed Child canon into this, he got so shitfaced at his own wedding he knocked himself out and didn't remember a thing, and Hermione had to take care of him as if it wasn't her big day too. Immediate divorce. I literally cannot FATHOM why they would be together. Listen y'all, this is just the tip of the ice berg, I could go on and on and on, but I won't. Let's just end it with an omg how I hate that little motherfucker. His hair is also stupid.

Sorry, this was mostly me ranting haha, if you want actual analysis let me know lol. Again, just my opinions, if you like them, great. I don't.

Okay.. hear me out.. I love April!

Yes I know, I know. Her character is used to screw with Luke and Lorelai, but I can’t help but love her. She’s so adorable and cute, and I love her interactions with Luke. Even when they’re super awkward. I do really wish that ASP had actually used that plot line to build Luke and Lorelai’s relationship. Like yes, bring the drama, make it hard for them, but then have them grow and develop from the experience not the opposite. There was so much potential with it and yet…sigh.

It’s also funny to me that I’m starting this part of the season at the beginning of the month of April. Not timed at all but I love how it worked out

in the episode where luke brings april to jess’ open house he goes ”btw, this is your cousin” and jess replies ”yeah, liz filled me in on all that”. which… what???? so did luke just not tell him😭 what if liz hadn’t told jess? and luke just would have brought his long lost kid to see jess without warning him. and then would have decided to break it to him by saying ”btw, this is your cousin”. luke is insane, i love him.

I think I’ve finally pinpointed why I dislike the later seasons of Gilmore Girls (and by this I mean after season 3/4). I just hate how much it resembles a soap opera. All of the ‘dramatic’ scenes and plot lines are overplayed and just don’t seem realistic anymore. Before the show was charming and semi-relatable but, in the later seasons, it just feels like the writing was out of touch. The whole Luke’s secret daughter plot line really adds to this, too. All the characters started acting strange just for the dramatic effect, or at least that’s what it felt like. Maybe this is just me, but the later seasons just feel…off.

Offering their newly revealed father a drink when he shows up at their school/workplace and is overwhelmed (It's also similar to Jess's "Please let me get you a soda" when he and Rory are nervous)

Having distinctly brown eyes in contrast to both of their parents

Anna was so jealous of Lorelai. Her whole “I don’t trust Luke or Lorelai” excuse wasn’t really about boundaries or uncertainty it was because she didn’t know how serious Luke and Lorelai were and because she obviously still had feelings for Luke. She didn’t like that he moved on let alone that he was getting married.

This is just my personal take but I 100% believe she felt this way, and it explains her behavior perfectly. When she found out Lorelai helped with April’s birthday party, she acted annoyed because she hated that April praised Lorelai so much. It bothered her because she didn’t like Lorelai so she didnt want April to. I truly believe she wanted to sabotage Luke and Lorelai. and I will forever die on this hill.
