okay....ummm.....so how do i only now realize that literally one of the most stable and widely recognized elements of dragon lore is about them being shape-shifters. and concealing their identity. and being secretive and protective of themselves. how did i not put two and two together earlier.....

okay so news flash it makes a lot of sense now that i think about it & i feel like an idiot. it makes even more sense considering that i, as a sea serpent, am insanely connected to water, and literally the FIRST thing that comes to mind about this element is being adaptable and shifting

got to go swimming at my cottage this weekend:)

every time i get to swim, ESPECIALLY in this river, it makes me immediately remember every sea-creature-feeling i have ever had.

i AM some sort of aquatic creature. i know i am. but i forget when i am not in the water for so long. and then i get in it for the first time in a while, and im diving and trotting and splashing and playing and im like !!!!!!!! i love being a river creature !!!!!!

i am still not sure which kind of water creature, though. for about a year now i have been back and forth between some kind of siren or seal. those are my best guesses. i definitely feel much more connected to rivers and freshwater than saltwater, but i also feel a connection to shallow coastal seawaters. just not deep ocean.

i often even feel somewhat canine, but i fear that’s just because i am always, at baseline, canine. my doghood never goes away. but my river creaturehood does.

heck, maybe i’m some sort of seal siren monster creature. i definitely have an aquatic tail but i don’t feel like a fish, im definitely (and always) a mammal. im almost sure i have legs/paws/hands. i feel somewhat humanoid sometimes, but that may be a disguise or a facade. like i’m good at pretending to be human or pretending to look human. and yet selkies have never really spoken to me; it’s not a coat. i dunno. recently i’ve been leaning more towards sirenkin and have sometimes used that to describe myself.

anyway. not a super exciting post because i am no closer to figuring out my river creatureness. but im not super upset about that; i don’t mind the journey of self discovery. i often think nonhumans these days put way too much pressure on themselves to discover their types immediately. i don’t need to know now. it’s not going away anytime soon.

Gear isn’t always tails and masks

(I think I’m a cartilaginous fish cladotherian with a stronger thing for bull sharks idk tho)

Anyways

Shark gear is kinda rare I do maybe plan on getting one of those swimming fin (even tho they are kinda dangerous I’m a good swimmer and a trained life guard so dw ^^)

Tell me if I’m wrong ofc and the ones at the bottom if anyone has any clue I think they might also be sand tigers but since they don’t have the small teeth on there

I’m not too sure I’m not against tail and masks they are rlly cool and u have to be creative and I rlly want to make a tail so I will probably show that when I do but if anyone has made tails before if u could give me tips maybe ^^
