Happy Valentine's Day and Aromantic Awareness Week!!!
I think this time of year is kind of fun. We have Valentine's Day and then almost immediately Aromantic Awareness Week. I know not everyone in the aro is a fan of Valentine's Day, and I understand. There are certainly aspects I don't like. But I personally enjoy it and I like that I can celebrate both of these so close to each other!
In order to celebrate both of these events, I decided to write a little Tesseroki fic. The first chapter shows how they celebrate Valentine's Day, and the second one shows how they celebrate Aromantic Awareness Week.
As for their relationship and romantic/sexual orientation, that is left up to interpretation. Perhaps they feel romantic attraction and are dating. Or maybe they don't feel romantic attraction but are dating regardless. Or they could be in a queerplatonic relationship. They possibly are aroallos in a sexual relationship. Or might be celebrating as friends. They could even be loveless aros. Or aplatonic. They also could be closeted. Or another other situation you can think of. I tried my best to leave it vague. They never once say they love each other with the specific word love. There is no mention of dating. The closest there is is that the Avengers clearly know that Tess and Loki have a deep connection (thus I can easily see it being interpreted as the two being in the closet and everyone thinks they are dating). But even when the Avengers talk about Valentine's Day, they say that it can be celebrated by friends and family. So, definitely isn't perfect but I tried to keep everything vague.
The first chapter was published on Valentine's Day, the second one a little bit after Aro Awareness Week (sorry I got behind a bit).

Here’s the list of characters I headcanon as aromantic/arospec. Yes I am aware that many of these may be me projecting but there’s not much aro rep so let me have this. Also these are just headcanons I enjoy, no stress if you don’t agree!
1. Loki
For me this headcanon works for both the mcu character and the agent of Asgard character, but in different ways.
Agent of Asgard because the only sort of relationship we see him in is in the weird plot when everyone’s personality switched and he and Amora called each other “dear” one time. I could be missing something but that’s all I remember. The lack of relationships for Loki in that comic is really the only thing going into this headcanon tbh. Also meeting his (heavily aroace coded) best friend at speed dating neither of them really wanted to be at is so amazing to me.
The Marvel Loki also works with this headcanon (yes, despite him and Sylvie) because I’m sorry but never having “real” feelings for anyone for literally around 2000 years is the most aromantic thing I have ever fucking heard. Also the fact that the first person he ever fell in love with is another version of himself also does not seem very allo. So at the very least he’s on the aromatic spectrum.
2. Mabel Pines
I am aware more people will probably disagree with this one but I actually have reasoning.
My favorite part of gravity falls was actually in the end credits. At one point there’s this Polaroid of a tree Mabel has evidently been carving hearts into for each relationship she’s had over the summer. All of the hearts are crossed out except one that says “MxM” . Which first of all made me cry and second of all to me says that, whether or not you headcanon her as aro, she learned to value herself over a relationship, and that she really only needs to take care of herself to be happy wich is an amazing message.
But I always read her need to find a relationship as internalized arophobia, because she realized she’d never had a real crush and felt a need to prove to herself that she could feel romantic love by rushing into a “summer romance” like ones in stories she’d read or seen on tv. Again this may be projecting because it’s similar to my experience but I recognized this with her and yeah at the end of the day it’s just a headcanon that makes me happy:)
3. Shoto Todoroki
He just...gives me the vibes. Like fr his disinterest in anyone has been used as a joke numerous times. I just don’t see him needing or wanting romance as part of his life and that’s totally fine!
4. Pidge Gunderson
It’s not just cuz they fit the color palette guys I swear
Fr tho they’ve always given me aroace energy even before I really knew what that was. I like to think that they and hunk eventually form a qpp when they’re a bit older.
5. Aizawa
Again, the v i b e s also the absolute deadpan rejection of joke time and time again speaks to some aroace coding he definitely has in my opinion.
And there you have it! I know some of these explanations were way longer than others but I’m just inconsistent that way, sorry! Hope anyone who read this enjoyed it and lemme know if you share any of the same headcanons!!
Yes i do have an newborn hiperfixation on Bruce and Loki + jealous Tony platonic science bro relationship.
Loki and Bruce are buddies with each other first.
Tony is a small (shot), jealous bean, but Bruce still loves his science bro and will always remind Tony about it.
Eventually Tony starts to be fond of Loki too and he begins to be friends with him.
Tony doesn't quit being the jealous one, though, but it isn't that bad as it used to be and they makes an inside joke out of it.
They love to do science stuff and have long conversation about it, bc they understand each other when no one can.
Ofc they don't do that all the time. That would be ridiculous.
They love to watch good detective crime story and figure out the case before the ending of the episode.
Loki bonds with Bruce and Tony differently and he loves that about their friendship.
Bruce reminds him of cozy, warm summer night with soft music playing in the background and millions of stars at the night sky.
Loki can always come to him and sick for comfort and peace and he loves Bruce for it.
A lot of the times Bruce actually reminds him of Frigga and, as much as it makes Loki happy, it also bring bitterness to his mind, but he's trying not to think about it to hard.
Tony on the other hand is like those chaotic horse rides in the end of autumn. Freezing wind in your hair and falling leaves, but it doesn't bother at all, you live for this moment, admire it and don't care about anything else.
Tony is a great person for any kind of distraction, taking care of Loki or Bruce while doing it and best friend to hang out with.
Nothing with Tony is and gets boring, even the most boring things or chores.
He always finds a way to do them interestingly, but only when he doesn't have to do them (by himself).
Loki never drops it and teases Tony with it, which he likes to do often.
Tony is very much a father figure for Loki or any figure really and the first one he ever had. Loki even confessed ones that Tony is the person he always wanted to be (Tony cried).
Tony and Bruce were the first people he told about his gender-fluidity and sexual orientation.
That day for Loki was full of emotions, mainly frear and hope and a lot of happy tears, bc ofc science bros were supportive.
They made sure Loki got as much positive attention and love he (or xe as this was his preferred pronoun at the time) needed.
After Loki's coming out it was time for Tony and Bruce.
Although everyone knew by now that Tony likes to go both ways Loki first heard from him that he thinks he might be on a aromatic spectrum.
No one made Tony explain it, but he did anyway and Loki discover that they had a lot in common. Both seek for attention and love, but not in a romantic way, but in a strong and deep friendship way.
The only difference was that Tony could see himself in the romantic relationship (as with Pepper) and Loki just couldn't, Tony and Bruce made sure he knew it was okay.
Bruce confessed he didn't really felt like needing to be a guy or a girl. He just doesn't feel a connection to gender at all and took him really big chunk of time to figure that out.
He still decided to use he/him pronouns, bc he does feel comfortable with them and just doesn't bother to change that.
In the end, they made a statement that every morning they'll start by asking each other what's their pronouns are for this day.
That made and still makes Loki euphoric and accepted among those who he loves the most.
Loki loves both of his idiots very much, bc that's the closest thing he had to a loving and supportive family. He didn't tell them that yet, but maybe in a future...

...Ok I really wanted to but I can't end the post there because there's so much good stuff,,, like also he is getting to express a little more emotion? Be a little more free? He's finally getting some time away from everyone who's trying to tell him what and who he should be (which is ironic given that he's now imprisoned by people who have seen every moment of his life...toxic households really are the worst huh) but ANYways he even actually looks happy at points!! Genuinely happy, and not that soul-crushing melancholic happy that I'm so used to seeing! (Projectable character once again confirmed...)
Basically I know this post is a mess and much less coherent than my usual stuff, I am just very excited that my SON is finally getting the treatment that he deserves, and that overall the show is giving off some pretty strong buddy cop vibes (because heck yes he needs to have some fun even if his "buddy" is really his jailer what else is new for him), and that there does not seem to be anything straight in the vicinity of 20 miles of this show
Today I bring you genderfluid Loki. Tomorrow? Who knows.
