forgot to talk about this but it bothers me that there's some aroace people on here who exclude the entire spectrum of aro/ace people for "not being aroace enough," as if wanting or having sex or a romantic relationship once somehow excludes you from being aro/ace?
like the other day I ran into someone who was calling themself aroace but saying that it's "not a spectrum" and that allo people need to "stay out of our community," and like?? bruh. what.
everything is a spectrum in the LGBTQ+ community, and that's okay. gender is a spectrum. attraction is a spectrum. orientation is a spectrum. sexuality is a spectrum. it's not a competition of who's aro/ace enough to count. the sooner we all recognize that almost no one is purely straight, cis, or allo, the better our society will be at accepting diversity.
it's not watering down the meaning of a term for it to expand to include gray aces or demis. it's not destroying the sanctity of the aromantic community if we include frayromantics or bellusromantics. there is no such thing as a binary in nature, so why do we keep trying to force our communities into black and white boxes?
humanity would be collectively happier if we accepted that all of us are queer in one way or another. that's why we fight for our rights. if one group of us isn't free, then none of us are free. we all deserve to be acknowledged and accepted. stop trying to force conflict when there shouldn't be any.
anyone who identifies as aro/ace is aro/ace. end of discussion. love your siblings under the umbrella equally, don't bully people out of the community just because you think everything has to be one way or the other.
