Legacy Heroes AU

((Idk I was feeling emo. Anyway here’s my next gen kids for Arrowverse because idk what I’m doing but y’all can’t stop me.))

It all starts with Rip-Quentin and Laurel Sharpe-Lance. (Avalance Twins who were born a couple years after Mia)

At age 16, these two get tired of riding their moms’ coattails and decide to form their own team.

They recruit their cousin, Quinn Drake (18) (Dinahsiren baby named after Quentin)

They bring in Mia Queen (19) (This timeline’s version of the canon Olicity baby obvs.) and Nora and Joe West-Allen (18) (the Westallen tornado twins because you can pry canon tornado twins out of my cold dead hands)

For a while, it’s just the six of them, but after a while they figure out there’s not much for them to do in their current time period (2040s) but (idk why yet) the timeline is always messed up so why not help out there?

Laurel can assemble a lot of the parts for their own timeship via magic but they still need some help with engineering so they recruit Arthur Palmer (17 and a half) (Dahrkatom baby) who is easily the most mature of them despite being younger than Mia and the West-Allen’s, so he becomes a the dad friend pretty quickly.

And because Ray was still close with John even after he left the Legends, their kids grew up with constant playdates and Calliope Constantine (16) (Constangreen adopted baby) ends up tagging along.

Calliope and Laurel become a chaotic duo because they can both do magic.

Of course since every other Legends kid is coming, they end up with Eleftheria Tarazi (15) (Zarlie baby) and Zavian Heywood-Tarazi. (14) (Naterad adopted baby)

So now there’s ten of them and they’re all just as chaotic as their parents except they were all raised together so they’re all just cruising through time beating people up with the power of sibling love. RQ is the leader like his mother before him.

Somehow after like a year of doing this they end up with ‘in her 30s’ Lita Rory as kind of a cranky camp counselor/vodka aunt but other than that their lineup doesn’t really change at all

They call themselves the Legacies. (I know but I couldn’t think of anything else.)

Here’s the thing: in this timeline, Barry, Dinah, and Laurel Lance all die in Crisis.

Nora and Joe decide go save their dad. When the team figures this out, they send Quinn after them, cause she’s weirdly good at keeping up with the twins’ whirlwind logic.

This backfires because Quinn wants to get to know her moms, too. She convinces RQ (team leader) that it’ll be fine and they can learn things from their parents back when they were cool.

Unfortunately, all this messing with time leads to their timeline becoming unstable. They accidentally erase Mia. RQ blames himself.

Don’t worry, Mia still exists. She’s just not their Mia. When they go back to the 2040s to check on her, she doesn’t remember any of them.

All the kids simultaneously go oh shit because this implies that they accidentally erased themselves from the timeline. Like, all of them except Lita.

And Lita won’t admit it but she loves these kids and they’re all depressed and accepting their demise and she’s like fuck that I’m not letting my kids go.

They figure out that the Legends kids will mostly be safe because Ely is half Fate and should be immune to timeline changes and the others were born on a timeship for one reason or another so they have enough time radiation in their blood to not be affected much.

However Nora, Joe, and Quinn are losing memories very quickly even while in the Temporal Zone.

Then it gets worse and they’re getting physically sick.

The kids figure out the only way to save those three is to use the Loom of Fate.

Only problem... the Legends destroyed it.

They have to sneak onto the past Waverider, the day the Legends reassemble it, get it, use it, and put it back in time to not cause any more changes to the timeline.

Long story short they all go like dumbasses and get caught.

Once everything gets cleared up and the Legends do DNA tests the past versions of the Legends are all intrigued and they want to get to know their kids and the kids are like omg mom/dad wasn’t always old and weird this is kinda cool.

So they end up staying for a little while.

Meanwhile Lita is panicking like where are those shitheads because Nora and Joe are getting sicker and o h s h i t Quinn blinked out of existence. But it’s okay it’s fine with the Loom we can fix it.

But the Legacies don’t remember this. In fact they’re starting to forget why they even came to the past because though it’s slower the timeline changes are affecting them, too.

Even Ely isn’t immune anymore. She’s less affected, but her mind is still getting all mixed up.

And the Legends are getting worried because oh shit something’s wrong with our kids and they don’t even remember why but eventually they think to take a communicator off RQ and contact Lita.

And Lita is all like FINALLY did you get it QUINN FREAKING DIED.

And the Legends are just freaking out because they don’t even know who this person is but apparently she needs the Loom to save their kids who are getting sicker and sicker and apparently there’s three more in the future and one of them already died.

In the end they decide to trust her and they take the Loom and the kids to the ship themselves.

And Mick is kinda just like oh shit is that my kid? Cause Lita didn’t tell them who she was just that she was a Legacy.

And he’s proud but doesn’t know how to say it that Lita has become a Legend and is protecting everyone else’s kids.

Anyway they do save everyone and then when the kids go back to the future the Legends are just like... not sure what to do... because now they know who ends up with who and the kids that result.

*insert drama here* :)

I might be writing and fleshing out most if not all of this at some point, probably not soon though. Anyway let me know if you’re interested in an expanded version of this story.

I might do it even if nobody’s interested just for me though.

Am I the only one who’s still kinda mad the fact that Oliver has lost just about everything including his wife and son, is hated by the people in Star City esp. law enforcement, and is sitting in a super max prison with criminals who want to murder him, while Barry gets his happily ever after with his wife, the key to the city, coffee drinks named after him, a holiday in his honor, etc.?

At least it’s an 100% accurate portrayal of how humans would respond to superheroes...

Laurel Sharpe-Lance

((One of my Arrowverse next-gen kids.))

Full name is Laurel Sharpe-Lance.

Superhero name is Nightingale.

She’s the younger twin, but she doesn’t like to talk about it, specifically because RQ does like to talk about it, too much.

The only one Sara was with when she went into labor was Mick.

Though he f r e a k e d out at first, he actually handled it okay and got Sara to a hospital.

He will deny he cried when he was made baby Laurel’s godfather.

Where RQ is a momma’s boy, Laurel is... not as much.

She loves her moms but has a special connection with John. He first figured out she had magic and taught her to use it without hurting anyone.

Magic lessons made her super close with John and Gary and not as much with Ava and Sara.

Still, she never says no to cuddles where Ava and Sara grab both twins after a stressful mission and hold them until all 4 fall asleep.

Besides her moms and Constangreen, Laurel’s favorite growing up is Mick.

She loves Auntie Charlie, Auntie Zari, Uncle Behrad, Uncle Ray, etc., but none of them have the raw nonchalance about her magic that Mick does.

He’s the only one who will just shoot a little stream of flames at her (the heat gun on low power) so she can practice shields or just randomly ask her if she can summon him a snack.

By the time she’s 10, Laurel is tired of everyone treating her like a little kid, like magic is something that should only be used as a last resort, because at this point, magic is like breathing to her.

Mick doesn’t do that. For him, magic is just another part of her and he loves his goddaughter even if she summons Bloody Mary in rear view mirrors just to watch her get hit by a car.

For the record, Sara also finds that hilarious, but moving on.

Laurel is really close with Calliope because Calliope gets it. They have girl talk a lot and do joint spells that neither of them are strong enough to do alone.

Those two, being two magical kids on one timeship, are a special kind of chaos once Laurel discovers her magic at age 6.

When they end up in the past, Sara and Ava don’t really understand why they’re having trouble getting through to Laurel.

It’s because when she was little, Laurel knew she was different but they didn’t believe her until John confirmed it.

To be fair neither of them had experience with kids yet. Their only real experience, in fact, was babysitting baby Arthur once when Nora and Ray couldn’t get anyone else to watch him.

Eventually they talk it through and they promise not to make the same mistake when they raise her in this timeline.

In the future, Laurel has a bit of a *ahem* thing, with Amaya’s great-grandson, Zaire Jiwe. (Kuasa’s (mainly because I know nothing about Mari) son.)

By which I mean they run into each other on missions way too often and flirt A LOT but refuse to have a goddamn normal conversation.

Kuasa was never close with the rest of the heroes so Zaire grew up separately from the others and Laurel doesn’t know who he is beyond ‘the Fox.’

RQ is past being overprotective brother and is now just frustrated with them like oh my god can you talk to each other without flirting but never acting on your feelings ONE TIME?!

Instead, Zaire and Laurel just flirt even more obnoxiously to annoy him while internally freaking out like holy shit does he/she actually like me back???

Sara doesn’t tell Laurel she knows who he is cause she’s an overprotective mom.

And Ava is oblivious and doesn’t even know that Laurel likes him.

Maaaaybe Laurel will find out who he is and maybe she won’t. ;)

Whenever they are around together Laurel Lance and Laurel Sharpe-Lance are called Big Laurel and Little Laurel.

It’s a little awkward as they both know Laurel is named after the aunt who died years before she was born.

But they make it work.

RQ Sharpe-Lance

((I decided to write down the origins of all my next gen Arrowverse OCs. Starting with the son of Avalance.))

Full name is Rip-Quentin (RQ) Sharpe-Lance

Superhero name is White Crow.

He and his twin sister were made via future tech so they are biologically both Ava’s and Sara’s.

But you know with artificial insemination there’s a higher probability of twins so...

Ava made Gary his godfather. Gary cried hard.

RQ is the older twin and it is important to him that everyone knows it dammit.

Being named after Rip Hunter and Quentin Lance, RQ has a lot to live up to.

The twins grow up on the Waverider, occasionally spending time at Uncle Barry’s or Uncle Ray’s house whenever there is a really dangerous mission.

But when he is on the Waverider little RQ gets up early and trains with whoever happened to be up.

Sometimes this means going over historical textiles with Nate or checking engine parts with Behrad. Sometimes it means battle tactics with Ava or fight training with Sara. Charlie tells him stories about all the things she’s seen in history and Mick takes him to empty fields to do target practice with the heat gun. Zari teaches hacking and John and Gary tell him about magic even though he can’t do it himself.

If nobody’s up Gideon will tell him about one of his namesakes or play back old (censored) security footage from early Legends missions.

Basically, once RQ gets older he doesn’t have powers but he’s probably the most dangerous one on the team because he just knows so much and can almost do anyone’s job for them. He can’t do magic but he can tell Calliope or Laurel the spell they need before they think of it. He can’t shift like Ely but he can blend into a crowd so well nobody will notice him.

He leads the team like his mother before him.

RQ is very much a momma’s boy, but he’s closer with Ava. They’re both logical thinkers where Sara and Laurel are ruled by their emotions.

He’s really close with Mia Queen. They’re the kind of friendship where they kick ass and judge people together. A lot of people have thought they were together but no, thank you, RQ prefers pining after Tim Drake.

Besides Mia has things with other boys over the years. She and RQ are just really good friends.

When his Mia gets erased, he promises he’ll get her back, but then later he notices how much... lighter... she seems in this new version.

His Mia put pressure on herself to measure up to her dad, Laurel, and Dinah. Her childhood idols became standards she never felt like she reached.

The new version of Mia is by no means sunshine and rainbows, but she’s happier.

RQ decides to leave her the way she is. After all, there’s no law saying he can’t make friends with her again, right?

When the Legacies inevitably end up in the past, Sara and Ava have... trouble..? bonding with Laurel, but they get along with RQ pretty quickly. They’re both just so proud of him and he’s kind of amazed that his moms were ever this cool because the moms he knew were kind of overprotective.

(Rightfully. When they were little a lot of villains tried to kidnap the twins.)

At one point, RQ somehow ends up on a mission alone where he runs into another time traveller.

It is a young Rip Hunter, from before he even assembled the Legends.

RQ is just going fuckfuckfuckfuck because if he slips up and gives too much away, he could make Rip not form the Legends or someone else could die in his place and therefore him, Laurel, and maybe every other Legends kid wouldn’t exist.

Rip is kind of... not sure what this is about because this kid says he’s a Time Master but he’s also got some serious issues with this cover story. One such issue being that he is 17.

Eventually Rip manages to crack RQ a bit, leading to him explaining that ‘in the future you will affect my family in... ways—and my moms name me after you.’

Judging by how RQ doesn’t seem to know him well, Rip kind of guesses that he dies before he gets to meet this kid.

But watching this kid who honestly is like a younger gay American version of him, Rip can honestly tell RQ at the end of whatever mission that he’s proud of him.

And that means... more to him than RQ thought it would.

Basically RQ is a badass and he leads his team of Legacies.

Guys Gideon can’t get love-drugged cause she’s a robot so that means in the latest episode when she started broadcasting Zari’s coms with the song and shit, she just saw what was going on with Zari and thought “oh this is going to be fucking hilarious when they come to their senses.”
