aru would be the one who has depression
Mkay.
Aru sat in the middle of her room, staring listlessly at the wall, absently drawing swirls in the carpet. A knock at her door. “Come in.” Her voice sounded tired, even to her. The door swung open with but a slight creak, and Aiden stepped in. “Shah? You good?” She nodded, not feeling like moving too much. He frowned. “No, you aren’t. Tell me what’s wrong.” She shook her head, strands of hair escaping the loose braid. “I told you, I’m fine.” He sighed and sat next to her. “Aru, I’m here to help. I want to help. Please tell me.” Her face twisted into a scowl. “I’m fine! Don’t worry so much!” Aiden recoiled, looking confused. “What’s up with you?” She let out a short, scathing laugh. “What’s up with me? Oh, I don’t know, Acharya! Maybe it’s the fact that I’m supposed to betray you all, or that I have a sister I didn’t even know existed!” He was silent, except for the uttered, “Oh.” The he shifted to face her, and took her hand in his. “Talk to me when you’re ready,” he muttered, “I’ll listen. It must be a lot, for the weight of the world to rest on your shoulders.”
She stared at him for a moment, then the tears escaped. “I’m scared! I’m so scared! I can’t do this, Aiden. I’m just a kid! My biggest worries should be grades and wondering whether I'll be asked to a school dance, not whether we’ll die in the next two seconds!” She went on, and on, and on, and only then did Aiden realize how much she was truly shouldering, and how strong she was. But even the strongest had their limits, and Aru was well past her’s.
Also, I won’t do these types of prompts very often (relating to depression or anxiety, I mean) because I don’t want to portray it wrong, and minimize the severity of these conditions.
