Gear housings and hatches for inspecting the chutes on the top floor of the Asbury Mill in Asbury, #NewJersey. The mill was built between 1863 and 1867. It served as a gristmill until 1895, when it was converted into a graphite mill. Graphite production in this building ended around 1972. It was donated to the Musconetcong Watershed Association in 1997. The mill is located beside the Musconetcong River. In December 2006, 24.2 miles of the #Musconetcong was designated a National Wild & Scenic #River. The mill is currently undergoing restoration. Thanks to private and public funds, the exterior was recently completed and now work can begin on the interior (as funding permits).
