Ash: It just seems mildly unprofessional to me to rank your teammates in order of who you would sleep with.

Rayne: You're just mad you're tied for fifth

Ash: I am slightly upset that I rank behind the government operative who took part in a genocide of my people and threatened to have you arrested while going completely mad.  Just a little upset.

Rayne: Yeah, but you're missing some very important information.

Ash: Which is?

Rayne: I'm a lesbian. And a bottom.

Description: Ash was born and raised in a rural town as a blacksmiths son. He intended to be just like his father. Even as the war swept across the continent, they found themselves blissfully separated from the conflict. Until the Crown caught word of Dachsen in the settlement.

Dozens of heavily armed Crown soldiers stormed the town, burning it to the ground. Ash survived, being in a building towards the outer edge of the town at the time of the siege. His wife and child were not quite so lucky.

Now lost and angry, Ash moved to the largest nearby city - Rockport. His specialty as a weaponsmith secured him a job quickly with Queen, first building the strange weapons from stolen government blueprints, then selling them. The only complication is that Queen also has a penchant for watching the Strings, and the recent behaviour has her concerned that something big is coming.
