Increase Testosterone With D-Aspartic Acid - By Austin Stehling
We all know the importance of testosterone. It is a hormone that is largely responsible for the muscle gains and strength gains we seek in the gym. It is responsible for protein synthesis (muscle hypertrophy) and increased levels of testosterone promote fat loss, strength gain, and increased libido. High levels of testosterone also promote self-confidence and a strong sense of well-being. Plain and simple testosterone is a hormone that is very important to us people who enjoy fitness and a good quality of living.
What is D-Aspartic Acid?
D-Aspartic acid is an amino acid. It is supplemented in pill or powder form. D-Aspartic Acid is a naturally occurring amino acid found in the pituitary gland and testes. Its main function is regulation of the release and synthesis of LH and testosterone in humans.
What Will Supplementing D-Aspartic Acid Do for Me?
Studies show that supplementing D-Aspartic acid increases the body’s natural ability to produce LH (luteinizing hormone) and testosterone. LH promotes testosterone production in males as well and is an important sex hormone. Studies have proven D-Aspartic Acid’s effectiveness. After a 12 day period, males supplementing with D-Aspartic acid in an Italian study were shown to have an average of 42% higher testosterone levels and a 33% increase in LH. A 42% increase in testosterone levels is significant to someone looking for increased performance. Couple that 42% increase with someone who has high natural testosterone levels already and results will be noticeable. Someone with low testosterone could use the supplement to get into a normal to high range which again will be beneficial in the gym and to your quality of life.
Is D-Aspartic Acid a Natural Supplement and where is it Available?
D-Aspartic acid is as natural as using a whey protein powder or a pre workout supplement. What differentiates D-Aspartic acid from a steroidal substance is that D-Aspartic Acid increases your body’s ability to produce testosterone and LH. Your body is producing those increases. When taking a steroid such as testosterone, you are injecting that hormone into your body. Instead of an increase in your natural testosterone levels; your body begins to shut down its ability to create testosterone and other sex hormones when on steroids. Steroids allow you to reach physiological levels of testosterone your body could never produce on its own. D-Aspartic Acid, still relies on your body’s ability to produce testosterone. D-Aspartic Acid is readily available at your local supplement store or online bodybuilding website.
How Much and how Often Should I Use D-Aspartic Acid?
The studies conducted administer 3 grams of D-Aspartic Acid daily to their participants. This is a safe amount to use. There are several ways to cycle on and off. Some people enjoy 12 days on, 12 days off, others 1 month on and 2 weeks off, or people like me, never come off. I have been using this supplement daily for about a year now and enjoy it.
My Recommendations:
Purchase some D-Aspartic Acid and supplement it daily at 3 grams per day. Do not use this supplement if you are under the age of 18 or do not have a common grasp on proper training and nutrition. This supplement is not a miracle supplement. Yes it can help aid in strength and size increases, recovery, and nutrient partitioning (all benefits of increased testosterone levels), but the amount of testosterone it can increase will not make up for bad training and diet habits.
