PwASPD, what do you guys do when you're feeling impulsive? I used to shoplift but small crime isn't doing it for me anymore. What do you do when you want to fuck shit up? Looking for an outlet

I went to see my psychiatrist because I strongly suspected that I might have ASPD but she refused to diagnose me with anything and she didn’t read much about the symptoms I provided her. It made me so unheard and angry. She said a label could limit the opportunities to manage my conditions in a healthy way but for me not knowing name bothers me a lot :/ what do I do now..?

I'd want to find a new therapist who's at least willing to help me out instead of brushing me off.

It is important to ask others if they are fine with discussing potentially upsetting or disturbing topics. Also to clearly state that if they say they are not comfy with it accept and respect their answer without pushing or asking "are you sure?'" or so on. Learned that properly last year.

i only disassemble dead animals. i never kill animals. dead bugs and roadkill and natural deaths i will cut apart but holy shit. this morning has been so fucking awful for no good reason

i feed the birds and squirrels, so there’s always a busy backyard. it’s perfectly legal for me to set a trap on my property. it’s legal to kill it humanely, but as i thought about feeding them peanut butter rat poison, i saw that “two blows to the head” is acceptable.

i can hear it screaming and it curdles my blood in such a good way. i want to hear it shriek and try to run away from me, i want it to scramble in the trap, defenseless, and i want to see its brain head under a rock.

i’m too keyed up to dissect it, and i would have to get rid of it relatively quickly. i can spend some time getting all of my anger out, stabbing or blunt force. if i killed something, i may as well go all out. what if im not fully satisfied at the end? what do i do, kill another? no. i have to keep it contained.

i’ve spent more time than i’d like to admit researching squirrel traps. i don’t want to kill an animal. animals haven’t done anything wrong. i can’t kill a person.

Something that I recently realized myself was that tone and inflection matters a lot. And as very few can read minds (or body language that well) if you use a more flat tone it can register as rude.

question can i use the term anhedonia to describe my constant boredom if i have only traits of aspd but have npd and bpd? like would that be ableist or not? sorry if this isn't allowed

Anhedonia applies to a range of disorders including NPD. If you think the term fits you, you can use it.

related to the npd confessions anon question of “how can i support a person with aspd whos struggling?” is it okay if i ask them for example “you doing alright/you wanna talk about it?” offhandedly and if they say no to just move on? or should i not ask at all?

*Personally* I would be okay with that, but it really depends on the person. I'm not sure if I can give a good answer, sorry anon.
