Asbolus was a centaur who used birds to create prophecies. To the poet Hesiod Asbolus was an exquisite augur who even warned Nessus about his fated death at the hands of Hercules. Most significant was his prophecy for the wedding of Lapithae. As illustrated in Ovid's Metamorphoses, Asbolus was the prophet who cried warnings to his brethren to not go to the wedding - they were all doomed to die if they went. Notably this is the event in which Pholus, Chiron, and Cyllarus all die. Asbolus himself was shot through with many arrows by Hercules - Absolus’s injuries are described as a kind of “crucifixion.” IN MY OPINION Asbolus in your chart can represent a) your connection to birds, b) where you receive signs regarding the future, c) where no one tends to listen to you, and/or d) where you are a martyr.

i encourage you to look into the aspects of asbolus along with the sign, degree, and house placement. for the more advanced astrologers, take a look at the persona chart of asbolus AND/OR add the other characters involved to see how they support or impede asbolus!

Hi! I read your reply on asbolus 1st house conjuct asc, and you mentioned at the end it gets interesting if it was in the 12th house/aspecting asc from 12th, I'm curious to know more about it, if you'd like! tysm!!

asbolus (12h) - asc: positive aspects: these people tend to have an unshakable belief seeing the harsh truth in the world around them - they could be extremely talented psychics. they don't tend to fear the loss of others who doubt their prognostications. they don't mind embracing the miseries of the world around them and often try to alter the outcomes in the world around them if they can see a way of avoiding them. negative aspects: these people can be paranoid about their looks; thinking that their nose or legs look strange to others. they can appear unreliable and/or flighty - they could be the first to abandon others to save themselves. they appear to always deem themselves the injured party in any fallout or fight - they see the world as their enemy. they often feel their life is filled with misfortune and woe.

Hi so I was wondering what was is your input for asbolus conjunct ascendant 1st house

1h asbolus: these people tend to be semi-bird like in appearance - they could be flighty. they could have the philosophy of an extremist or have an eschatological frame of mind. they tend to always be in the state of thinking that the end is near. they see signs in the world around them in the form of other peoples' reactions and interactions. others may not wish to listen to them because they believe they are fear-mongering. but more often than not this placement has a martyr complex in all areas of life. they typically take on the self-opinion that they are not in the wrong in nearly every situation.

asbolus-asc: positive aspects: these people can have a fine-bone structure. they may be known as the "town mystic". they appear to be correct in the end, though no one is around to see they were. negative aspects: can appear unreliable and/or flighty. may be the type to hold signs stating that the "end is nigh'" or something extreme in nature. they don't appear the most sane in society. they appear to always deem themselves the injured party in any fallout or fight.

@thepoetrygirlsworld this asteroid for you is retrograded but has a tight orb; this means that it is not likely for you to relate to the concepts described above at the moment but rather you are likely to see these descriptions become true at a much later time in life (or you could reflect at a later time in life and find that they are/were true).

hot take having an asteroid conjunct your asc and being in your 1h are not that different. it's only of interest to me (and worthwhile having me tell you about this aspect), if it aspects from outside the 1h. like you are already getting the appearance stuff when it is in your 1h. but if it is conjunct from the 12h or aspecting from a different house to the asc now things are getting interesting.
