And ask for you while I'm here. You send things like this out there hoping to see who is following you that you don't know, but the people who are out there not generally talking and take the time to reach out to you and let you know them, what is your response to them, their reward, their encouragement to interact again?

And to answer your question: I like reblogging and posting these things because they’re good conversation starters. I’m a HUGE fan of conversation and intelligent dialogue between two people. It’s sort of a ‘Hey! You can come talk to me without any pressure’ kind of call. 

Do most people respond? 

Nope. But to the people that do, we have some wonderful conversations. It’s how I’ve made friends with people on this website, either by reaching out or having people reach out to me. And they all started with one conversation, which I think is fantastic. 

As for reward and encouragement? 

I think I’m a pretty interesting person to talk to...

But if you’re looking for more: If you read my fanfiction and want to ask questions, I will answer it. I will give sneak peeks. I’ll tell you about my thinking process, about the little scenes that could have happened, but didn’t make the final cut. 

And, let’s be honest, I’m going to keep reblogging these things even if no one responds (because, let’s face it, I get maybe one response to every ten of these i reblog, if that). Because to me, that one response is worth it. 

I come here to interact with people with similar interests, to discuss nerdy things, not to shout my ideas at an unresponsive world. 

I might not be the most active blogger in terms of original posts, but you can bet that I’m on here almost daily talking to people I’ve met here like @geniewithwifi who I’m pretty sure reached out to me after one of these random posts. 

So that’s why I do it.

Asbolus was a centaur who used birds to create prophecies. To the poet Hesiod Asbolus was an exquisite augur who even warned Nessus about his fated death at the hands of Hercules. Most significant was his prophecy for the wedding of Lapithae. As illustrated in Ovid's Metamorphoses, Asbolus was the prophet who cried warnings to his brethren to not go to the wedding - they were all doomed to die if they went. Notably this is the event in which Pholus, Chiron, and Cyllarus all die. Asbolus himself was shot through with many arrows by Hercules - Absolus’s injuries are described as a kind of “crucifixion.” IN MY OPINION Asbolus in your chart can represent a) your connection to birds, b) where you receive signs regarding the future, c) where no one tends to listen to you, and/or d) where you are a martyr.

i encourage you to look into the aspects of asbolus along with the sign, degree, and house placement. for the more advanced astrologers, take a look at the persona chart of asbolus AND/OR add the other characters involved to see how they support or impede asbolus!

Cyllarus's parentage is rather hard to find but I can only assume that he too was Ixion and Nephele's child given his race being a centaur. Cyllarus was a fine centaur: according to Ovid, who described him as though he was like sculpted gold in Metamorphoses. He was wanted by all but he only had eyes for one - Hylonome, the centauress. Hylonome was common looking but it was her charming personality that won over Cyllarus. Hylonome and Cyllarus adored each other equally and so the two went everywhere together. They were invited to a wedding for Lapithae so the two went to the cavern for the event. The reception that followed, of course, had wine and as we know from Pholus's story: centaurs and wine are a dangerous mix. A fight broke out - the couple fought side by side and yet Cyllarus sustained a wound to his side. A javelin had hit him and no one knew who threw it. Hylonome attempted to help him by (NEVER DO THIS IN REAL LIFE - LEAVE ANYTHING THAT PROTRUDES FROM A WOUND IN) pulling out the javelin and Cyllarus instantly died in Hylonome's arms. IN MY OPINION Cyllarus in a chart represents a) where you are seen as perfect or innocent, b) where you get into a bad and life threatening situation, and/or c) where you trust someone to help you but they only make it worse.

Sun in Leo semi-square Cyllarus (artistic work that comes from full expression, such as painting with the hands, musical skill, culinary ability (developed his own technique by combining hand-painted backgrounds with photographic sulk screen printed images)) in Virgo, sesquiquadrate Asbolus (leading the charge, motivated to reach the top (Warhol was an early adopter of the silkscreen printmaking process)) and Eris (things that overturn (radicalized the art market by erasing a concept so important to Western Art: "Uniqueness" and "Originality")) in Aries.
