old moon spirit sokka and lee drawing request
I have read at least one post ATLA fic where Zuko goes on a redemption tour of sorts where he visits minor characters who were involved in his redemption arc like Jin, Lee and Song.
I like seeing Zuko and Jin reconnect because they're cute. I love Zutara but I don't mind Jinko.
However, I think the person who deserves Zuko's visit the most is Song, not Lee. Song and her mother took Zuko into their home and treated Iroh (most likely for free since I doubt they had any money) and Zuko repaid them by stealing their ostrich horse in the dead of night.
I don't blame Lee and his family for treating Zuko so harshly after they discovered he was a firebender. It annoys me that they hated him more than the corrupt Earth Kingdom soldiers who oppressed their own people but their feelings are valid and understandable. Anyway, Zuko already showed Lee kindess on several occassions and Lee rejected him just because he was fire nation. Zuko doesn't owe Lee anything and Zuko has no reason to go back grovelling to Lee and his family.
Give me more Zuko and Song please!
Zukka sitting in a comfortable, though rare, silence in their living room, Zuko watching the fireplace with a gentle smile and and his hands clamped in his lap, Sokka sitting on his knees infront of the coffee table, tip of his tongue poked out of his mouth in deep focus as he watched the paint carefully bleed into the parchment in such an enchanting way.
their silence is softly broken a their usually loud and rowdy kids quietly shuffle into the room, an odd blanket of worry + sadness over the 4, the young twins holding onto the legs of the eldest daughter and the oldest son with teary eyes and a worried, though protective, expression plastered on Kya’s, their 15 year old daughter, face with a similar look on Iroh’s, their 17 year old son, face.
Zuko is immediately filled with worry and quickly stands from the couch to cross the room, Sokka looking up from his painting with a soft look in his eyes.
“Oh, what’s wrong, my babies..” Zuko murmurs as he lowers himself to his knees and carefully holds the hands of his two eldest while the twins fling themselves into his lap, hugging onto their papa with tight little hands.
Sokka is quick to stand by Zuko’s side, his chest filled with an adoring warmth, “Papa, Papi.. do you like the big kids more than us..?” Wang, one of their 6 year old set of twins, cries out with tears falling over her round cheeks. Zuko and Sokka felt their hearts shatter.
“What? no, of course not! why would you think that!?” Sokka frowns and quickly drops to his knees next to his husband of nearly 20 years, Zuko, and opens his arms wide for Wang and Lee, to which they do launch from their Otōsan’s lap to their papá’s lap for one o his famous bear hugs, Kya and Iroh shifting awkwardly in their spots before being dragged into Sokka’s arms as well, Kya letting her eyes tear up and she whispers over his shoulder, “Well, sometimes you and papa look at us so differently from Wang and Lee.. and- and papa always stares at Iroh over tea and you always have a weird look when you and auntie Kat talk about my name..”
Zuko lets out a soft sigh, a soft glow of orange lighting through the skin of his through, a few embers coming with his breath, “My lovelies.. i think it’s time we tell you why we named you the way we did..”
and since I’m tired of color-coding and writing this in fear its too long, in short, they all sat down over some hot tea, and that is how Kya, Iroh, wang and lee found out about uncle iroh and grandma Kya. [along with wang, lee and yue, their non-binary 9 year old who is fast asleep in their room, already aware of the meaning of their names..]
i might write more about my idea of Zukka fan-chilren tbh, i just thought of them and i already adore these five.
I just need to know, which Zuko is superior?

You'd been working at the Pao Family Tea House for a while. It wasn't an amazing job but the pay got you through the week and they didn't ask for experience or even identification which was good. You and your family had left your home in the Earth Kingdom without such identification and so overall you were satisfied but one great perk was the new barista. Lee and his uncle had arrived out of nowhere and while Mushi had fit right in Lee was hilariously unhappy to be there. He hated the customers and did not care when they got angry or yelled at him. He put in the minimum level of effort but somehow never got fired or into trouble. You always had a thing for mardy idiots and so you found yourself admiring Lee pretty quickly. When a customer once angrily told him they'd "never come here again" he replied "good" and you broke a cup you were laughing so hard. After working in retail for so long it was oddly soothing to see someone just not give a crap about being rude back and every shift with him was fun. Lee, seemed to like you most (or at least hate you least) out of all the other workers, probably because you also didn't take your job seriously. You got the job done but weren't queuing up to do extra shifts or prove yourself by doing more work. You showed him the perfect ways to get out of doing work, or to hide when customers were coming and he seemed to appreciate that. He wasn't one for talking but he told you he was a refugee too and you bonded about wanting to go home to your old lives. There was something oddly fascinating about Lee and you wanted to get to know him more and more...however you weren't the only one. There was a girl called Jin who came into the tea shop every single time Lee was working. You connected the dots pretty quickly but kept quiet about it hoping the problem would go away. It didn't of course.

inspired by that one Tumblr post we found on reddit about Zuko trying to marry Wang Fire instead of Sokka.
It's after the war, and Zuko is trying to appease his council with his fiance. They refuse to allow Fire Lord Zuko to marry somebody from outside of the Fire Nation. When Zuko brings in Wang Fire, he's not Sokka... right?
