This organization wants to change the color of classical music.
Across the nation, African-Americans make up less than two percent of musicians in orchestras while Latinos makes up less than three percent.
“I've had plenty of cases where people have said I won't get very far because of the color of my skin, and because of the stigma behind it” said Nathaniel Taylor, a cello player who’s half African-American and half Filipino.
To help diversify orchestras, the National Alliance for Audition Support supports musicians of color such as Nathaniel by focusing on the all-important audition.
