Bilbo: I've never stolen a thing in my life.
Thorin disagrees, Bilbo.
Watching auj extended edition, and the best part of the movie is the beginning (imo), where Bilbo is speaking of Erebor and it both kills me and fills me with such happiness. The way he speaks of it, you can hear the love and wonder in his tone. There's enough of it there to make thorin majestically smile like a dope for hours.
"Me? Unsociable? Nonsense!" *Lololol drawing a go away sign*
This would make thorin cackle tbh. His hobbit is such a doofus.
Bilbo might have signed onto the quest as a burglar, but the company also got another scribe out if it. They had unknowingly made sure that they and their story would live on for a very, very long time.
I don't think I'll ever be calm about the way Gandalf speaks to Bilbo, like he's just fuckin up his entire life. Glad Bilbo went and got a husband out of the quest, but damn Gandalf could you chill please and stop judging every aspect of a person's life?
The pained humm from Bilbo when he opens the door to see fili and kili is some pretty good foreshadowing. Mischievous twerps that they are.
Sauruman is such a great anecdote for today's ignorance.
