More than halfway through S3 E1 of TOH and just realized Luz is autistic coded!
She is! I love that about her. I think she has both adhd and autism and Amity has autism, but she masks it.

"We heard what you were saying, about Em not being able to stay in her room, so-”
“We made a massive sleepover in Eda’s room!” Luz interrupted excitedly.
“My room?!” Eda said in shock.
“It’s the biggest,” Amity said matter-of-factly.
Lilith cackled, while Eda continued to stare in disbelief. “My room?”
“Now we can all have a sleepover!” Luz said happily.
OR Luz struggles with nightmares, and the Blight children don't understand the Owl House is safe (yet). but at least they have each other, and Eda and Lilith are happy to be parents
totally wooing amity by showing off her tangler, that’s what impresses the gals right?
anyways luz is adhd and has fidget toys (tanglers being her favorites) and i can’t be convinced otherwise.
the fool represents new beginnings, having faith in the future, being inexperienced, not knowing what to expect, having beginner's luck, improvisation and believing in the universe
i’m making an owl house tarot series! i felt luz really fitted the fool card, as she’s going on a new journey in the boiling isles
so like autism is a spectrum. and i hc both amity and luz as autistic, though i also think luz has combined type adhd. but i wanna talk about how cool it is that both characters display forms of neurodivergency in different ways. imo amity is a little less outwardly neurodivergent because she is super repressed. i see her as the autistic girl that like taught herself social skills by mimicking and basically doing whatever she could to look nt, which is part of why she initially hung out with bullies alongside her parents basically forcing her to. she looks socially adept from the outside looking in, she's popular and brooding and has the "right" style etc
luz is a little more obviously neurodivergent. she's super sociable in the sense that she craves social interaction and wants friends but she just doesnt know how to make it happen. luz is just generally a more extraverted person and therefore shows her differences a bit more overtly in the sense that she displays "weird" or "intense" interests, doesn't dress typically, doesn't make friends as easily and gravitates towards other people who dont fit in, etc
anyway this could be more cohesive but its 4 in the morning and im just out here special interesting thanks for listening to my ted talk
Owl House-Baby Class
Okay, Luz's fear at possibly getting put into the baby class at Hexside didn't seem like much to me at first because it seemed mostly like her usual overdramaticness at first but then I realized she might have deeper reasons for not wanting to be in a different class group from everyone else.
I know lots of people see Luz as being neurodivergant, having autism or ADHD or both. That makes me wonder if she mightve taken specialized classes back when she was in the human world. And that might've contributed to her feeling "weird" or "different" from all the other students. I could even see her and her mom talking about this. Maybe Camilla tells Luz she has to leave her usual classes and start taking special classes away from the other kids and when Luz asks why she can't stay in the regular classes with the other classes, her mom says it's because she's different from them.
So maybe the baby class thing brings back memories of that and makes her afraid. She's already different from the other kids on the boiling isles. She doesn't want to be in the class for different kids again. She wants to be in the normal classes with everyone else. She's tired of being separated from other kids just because shes different.
