I stopped to look at this gif properly and noticed something I missed before. But when she first steps out she seems to be smiling, excited or excepting something else almost. Maybe she heard the voice of someone she knows?
Only to look suddenly surprised and almost confused. I'm guessing she probably smiles again after this but I think this is the exact moment when she sees Quaritch. Because her face isn't neutral it's surprised.

Tbh I am most likely inclined to words the theory where Varang and Quaritch form some kind of fucked up romantic relationship only for Varang to stab him in the back before he can do the same to her

This is part of AU, where Spider is traumatized.
In my AU, during his captivity they cut his hair, leaving only a few dreadlocks, and everything messy.
He was hospitalized many times due to the multiple fainting spells he had after the machine, and in fact he may faint for no reason, although this does not happen often.
If he smokes, a doctor seeing what he was holding back said to him "Do you want an escape? Try this" At first he didn't like it but as time went by it was the only thing that kept him alive.
For a few moments without reason he feel dizzy, and when this happens his vision becomes blurred.

little point of confusion, in the trailer Jake says something along the lines of: “if every human being on earth could live here without a mask? Then the na’vi people will be gone.” I REALLLY don’t think that’s a possibility because if all it took was linking with one of the spirit trees (as seen in the trailer when Spider is seen with tendrils from said tree across his face and entering his nose) to be able to breathe Pandoran air, wouldn’t the scientists have found that out ages ago? Like when Grace was still alive? I think Spider being able to breathe Pandoran air is more of a one-off thing through Kiri’s abilities or maybe just because Eywa likes Spider. I’m interested in hearing other people’s thoughts about this because it genuinely seems weird that it would be THAT simple for a human to be able to breathe Pandoran air.
also I hate Varang just because she’s the villain but GEEZ SHES SO COOL!!! I love her character design and whatever the animal she flies :DD idk if it’s just a mutilated ikran or another type of animal but it’s so BADASSS!! Also her scene in the beginning of the trailer was so sick.. like cool… I think this new perspective from a new clan is gonna be epic I can’t wait 😛😛
