Sorry for the very long time it took, in the meanwhile I started studying art, Procreate and tomorrow I will begin a 2-months Storyboard and storytelling course. I'm soo excited!

I think if Disney does give a Wildehopps kiss the greenlight, it might not be fully on screen. I can easily imagine Judy yanking Nick towards herself and their momentum pulling them off screen. That way, Disney gets to have their cake and eat it too: the kiss everyone wants is implied and they don't have to figure out the logistics of making it look good. I hope they don't do this, ofc, because I hate an ambiguous kiss in my media, but again, I wouldn't be surprised.

If they make Judy and Nick kiss (and you know how much I hope for it), it will be for sure towards the end of the film, and since Z1 and Z2 followed a pattern, it could be during the final Gazelle/Shakira concert, so it would be easy to conceal it in the lights and the shade of the crowd.

Alternatively, during the climax of the film, in a life or death situation, but in this case a confession is more likely than a kiss. Or in the post credits scene, in a moment when they are alone, but this is too adult for a Disney film of today (the 90s were the best in term of romance!).

If I were to place a bet, I'd go for the playful kiss during the concert. But anything is fine, just MAKE THEM KISS. PLEASE.

Some updates on the Wildehopps comic

In the past 2 months I attended a wonderful storyboard lab that pushed us to draw different styles and genres every week and keep on finding new ideas. I posted some here.

All this intensive comic making made me realise that the former single squared, fully colored panel format I used does not work for me anymore. The vertical 6-panels page of latest short Wildehopps comic gave me the storytelling freedom I needed and the greyscale coloring felt incredibly natural and fast.

Now that the course is over and my job's on break, I want to get back to the long comic and work on the next part, featuring Nick and Judy in the bird realm, some action and the romantic climax we all deserve. But it will be done in the new format, few pages posted from time to time so you won't wait too long for updates.

After making Princess Havana comic to cope with grief, I started drawing some cats I knew who have passed lately: the black one is Cochina, Havana's twin sister who passed in 2022, while the ginger and the grey tuxedo are family and friends' cats.

They were all very much loved and still are 🧡

This short story was born from my hyperfixation on victorian literature, gothic and dark stories and also... cemeteries 🖤

Art school is very demanding and I'm also working full time, this is the reason why my Wildehopps comic proceeds so slow but I promise I will update soon.

Last week our beloved cat Havana passed at the age of 18. She was the sweetest angel, a fluffy goofball.

To cope with grief, I drew this short comic for my storyboard class, referencing The Lord of The Rings. It's in Italian but you can find a rough translation below.

Translation: In an ancient Elven realm lived a beautiful princess, named Havana. She lived in a magnificent castle and she had anything she could desire. Her subjects were always there for her and every whim was an order. She loved sunbathing for hours more than anything. This amazing life could have lasted forever, but one day the princess felt the desire for a new adventure. So princess Havana left for the Undying Lands, where she now enjoys sun and meadows, waiting for the day she and her beloved subjects will be riunited.

I feel like as Zootopia fans we collectively don’t talk enough about Nick’s fuckass ugly yellow shirt he has the first day he meets Judy. Like the green? It’s classic. Pink, it grew on me. The yellow tho… I can’t get on board with that one lol 😂

And the fact that his tie is identical but the stripes slant in the other direction KILLS me.

(Actually, I needed an outfit from Z1 since the scene is set when they were separated after the press incident, and in a warm color to contrast with the cold lights of the city so this is why I chose the yellow shirt with the striped tie... "who cares?" you might say)

Wildehopps comic part 3 sketch

This is how part 3 was born, almost all sketched at once on a whim. Concept and dialogue haven't changed much.

As you can see, the last panel was first set in the office, but I thought: "I want to make it more interesting and fun. LETS DRAW THEM N@KED 😆"

She's in her 20s

He's in his early 30s

She's cheerful, career oriented, an optimist, full of energy and the certainty of a bright future ahead

He's kinda lost hope, getting on as he can, using sarcasm as a defense mechanism

They start working together and, surprisingly, they have a lot of fun

They become best buds: texting every evening, taking the long route home to stay together longer, having inside jokes

He's beginning to fall for her but he thinks she's too good for him and tries to bury it

Something bad happens and they get even closer

She realizes she doesn't want him to date other girls, that she feels loved by him in a way she never felt before, that he is quite attractive and she never registered it until now

They start behaving in a way people think they are already together, between wild flirting and complete denial

Eventually, this starts escalating to the point they have to confess

They kiss and everything is changed forever, like the universe has unfolded its truth to them: it is love and it always has been
