Bucky Barnes in “Avengers Standoff: assault on Pleasant Hill”
"There are those parties... the United States for instance... who might use this opportunity to impose their ideas of democracy on people who have no need for such foolishness... and others willing to push the world over the brink into war for they're own ideals." Avengers Stand-off (2003)
The truth in Victor's words is so pure it's painful.

Avengers: Stand-off
This series has three standalone comics and a BUNCH of comic tie ins. I didn’t read the tie ins and wasn’t confused so they’re not needed, but if you wanted to read those as well, just search for avengers standoff tie in comics!
The three comics in this series are Welcome to Pleasant Hill….Assault on Pleasant Hill…Assault on Pleasant Hill Omega.
So this series follows the heroes (specifically Bucky, Sam and Steve…but a lot of other heroes are in this as well) taking down a new form of prison/torture.
Basically it’s just ‘SHIELD is bad for doing this’
It’s interesting because Maria Hill is very…antagonistic compared to her character in the films.
There’s HEAVY dialogue and it’s easy to get a bit…bored with it but the story is fun.
It’s that typical of idea of the prisoners all being villains but they’re brainwashed to think they’re living in a utopian type town.
The person who was able to create this town is actually a kid which is both sad and terrifying at the same time. Plus we get to see Bucky at first not caring if he’d kill her because she’s..like another being and then she throws him out of a window which was funny😂 But then he ends up comforting her later on.
There’s definitely a lot of references to things that happened in previous comics but they give enough info for you to get the gist and just follow along the main story.
I’d recommend this one if you already have a base understanding of how SHIELD is a bit corrupted lol.
7/10!
Bucky and Steve moments
Okay, I was looking for some comics to give as a gift to a friend of mine, as he is a big fan of Stucky, I had the idea to give comics with shipp moments for him. I ended up acquiring a very broad knowledge about what happens in these comics and the numbers. I thought it would be cool to share with more people instead of just keeping them in a drawer. I hope it is useful. Later I’ll put the rest I found

Avengers: Standoff Assault on Pleasant Hill is officially my favourite limited run (less than 4 issues) right now. Why, you ask?
In case you missed it.
