6. What was your coolest Halloween costume?
... Oh god what did I wear for Halloween?
......... There was the year I was a very tiny baby trans and was A PIRATE but a PROPER PIRATE so the shirt was green velvet and almost too large and I had a sword and eye patch and boots and everything.
28. What makes you feel the happiest?
I don’t rank happinesses? I don’t know why I would. I like the moment when dogs figure out what you’re asking them to do and I like talking with my girlfriend and I like feeling my mice run around on my hand and I like driving over Lake Washington with Mount Rainier to my right and the Cascades straight ahead, I like infodumping, I like spending four hours on wikipedia reading about whatever.
I’ve got a lot of happies.
42. What kind of music to you listen to?
Soundtracks, pop, folk (and filk), classical, and some classic rock. Mostly.
53. What do you wish you didn't know?
There’s a lot of books I’d like to read as if I hadn’t before (Narnia, notably, does older and more aware me know the lion is Jesus before being explicitly informed).
I know some things about my brother that I’d rather not, but it’s not my place to share.
69. What's the most memorable class you've ever taken?
Like. Good question. I’ve taken a lot of classes. High school band was pretty memorable, Jews Greeks and Romans was pretty memorable, Motivation was pretty memorable (AND USEFUL), Honors Culminating Project was pretty damn memorable (as it should be--I did it on my PTSD).
97. Is there anything you're really passionate about?
Ok today’s special interests are “the Age of Discovery, particularly the Portuguese and Spanish”, more specifically and generally at the same time “why/how did the Europeans succeed in conquering”, also disease, also the Borgias (the people), also animal brains lowkey.
In the past year: Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Rome (the time period), horses, dogs, dinosaurs, Wicked...
Also mocking the US election isn’t a special interest but I get really into it.
100.What are some words that you live by?
“It is not incumbent upon you to complete the work, but neither are you at liberty to desist from it” (Babylonian Talmud, Avot 2:20)
I don’t have to be perfect, I don’t have to be all-knowing, I don’t have to always be helpful--I do have to try.
“Put your own oxygen mask on first”
Helping is nice but I have to help me first. Doing schoolwork is nice but not at the cost of me. So on.
