[HC] A Myth from Nibenay - Dibella Paints The Skies
- @korvanjund for the prompts! :)) also sorry you got shadowbanned :(((
TLDR: Dibella, goddess of colour and art, paints the skies every morning and every evening, as a gift to her lovers Khenarthi, goddess of the skies, and Azurah, goddess of beauty and twilight.
Nibenese priests of Dibella, Khenarthi, and Azurah, will each tell the same tale to pilgrims and travellers willing to listen. The story goes, that on the first Heart's Day, Dibella, Goddess of colours, love, music and literature, patron of the arts and mother of culture, wanted to surprise her divine lovers.
Something tamriel-bound was not enough, she wanted to bless their very spheres with her love. So, just before Azurah rose the sun into Khenarthi's divine sky, Dibella took a lock of her own hair and fashioned it into the Brush of Truepaint. She reached to the sky, colouring it in a thousand shades of pinks, oranges, and gold.
When Azurah saw her new dawn, she was overjoyed, asking her divine love to do the same when dusk would also fall upon the planet.
When Khenarthi saw her new sky, she wept at it's beauty, forging a rainstorm from her tears. Dibella took her Brush once again, and painted the clouds a magnificent array of dark blues, purples, and silver. The Goddess wept for days, and from the storm came a fertile flood, revitalizing the jungle.
Many priests, priestesses, and civilians alike will smile at the sky with a simple "good morning, Dibella." or "goodnight, Dibella." whenever there is a particularly beautiful sunrise or sunset.
