I ran the Japanese from that post with the FMA film posters through Google Translate to try and at least get the gist of what it said, and it translated the katakana for 'Gluttony' as 'gratney'. I felt it was important that you knew this.

I really did get Thin Mints (of course)! also a box each of Tagalongs and Samoas. I have already put a significant dent in the latter, as they are my favorite. the Thin Mints went straight into the freezer [chef kiss]

I met some Girl Scouts at international guide camp once and asked if they really sell cookies or if that was just something that happened in films

the response was ‘you *don’t*?’

see, I knew our counterparts abroad don’t have cookie sales (and I’m not surprised for some reason? it just seems like more of an American thing to do) but I AM curious as to what Girl Guides do for fundraisers if they don’t have a) proprietary and b) tremendously popular cookies to hawk for the better part of two months...

I think we mostly did things like car boot sales and sponsored hikes…          

SPONSORED HIKES. That’s super cool!! Other than cookies we had magazine prescription sales, which were always a huge pain in the ass and never well-received, and occasionally, like...gift basket sales. Hikes would have been much better and more relevant. Oh, well.
