April 15 run - 6 miles. Race day again. This time, it was the BAA 5K. It’s been a while since I did something this short and fast, and I was pretty confident I didn’t have great speed in my legs. Still, managed to keep my pace a little under 7, so I’ll take it. Two tough factors in this race. First, the crowd is huge. When I was coming in to the finish, the last runners were just crossing the starting line. Even where I was, it was really jammed up at the start. Second, there are a bunch of 90 degree turns - 4 in the first quarter mile. Every time, you’ve got to be super aware of your surroundings to not run up someone’s back or get tripped. Overall, not anywhere close to my fastest 5K, but given where I am now, I’ll take it.
